Fibre works in Hawkinge (NDHAW)???

Out for my jog tonight and ran past what looked like a new fibre cabinet.
New cabinet next to the existing one with a 230v sticker on it.

Got back and checked roadworks.org and there was an alert stating:

"HAWKINGE (PCP 4) POWER CONNECTION following street cabinet installation: 5 days notice required to: Excavate to expose low voltage cable for Power Connection and lay duct. POWER engineer to carry out inspection prior to jointing. POWER jointing team to insert cable and execute jointing works. Reinstate, Check and clear site. Approx 2 Metres duct in f/w"

The thing is Hawkinge has an NC marker on the Openreach superfast website.
Does this look like the checker may be falling behind the BDUK initiated work?

Or am I getting my hopes up over nothing?

From answering someone else on here, I reckon Kent isn't going to have BDUK plans sorted out until the end of the year, so it seems unlikely that it is work from BDUK...

... unless someone in Kent wanted a quick "PR win".

Even when that happened in North Yorks, it still took around 6 months from the contract being signed to a single cabinet being installed in a village.

Your best bet is to
a) Double check your number is on PCP 4 with the BT Wholesale checker,
b) fire an email off to nga.enquiries at openreach.co.uk

Just seems odd that they have popped up out of nowhere with no mention on the Openreach superfast site.

Found a second one further down the road.
No activity on the other 3 cabinets I found nearby.

Fast work. Maybe rollout plans were ready to go, just waiting for the signing of the contract?

Just hope they continue working around the remaining cabinets in the village.
