Re: FTTP choices

Don't worry smile I think many others have forgotten about them too and suspect many sales staff at providers would be confused by the range of options that some people have.

e.g. Sky Fibre will only give an estimate of 2 to 6 Mbps for example (i.e. FTTC based) but BT will offer Infinity 1,2,3&4

Have also have had complaints about BT checker being wrong, when it turns out the new cabinet people have in their street is Virgin Media.

D'oh!

Yes, I'd forgotten about there being a few cases where both are available. And it never occurred to me about the infill ones - despite seeing them reported here quite frequently.

Time to stand in a corner with the pointy hat on frown.

Our area i.e. the lines on our PCP Cabinet will only cater for up to 10 lines for FTTP the other 380 odd lines will be given FTTC at a later date when they install a FTTC Cabinet, I was told it was part of their new scheme, there was mention of G.FAST, but I am not too sure now.

The strange thing is there is already the FTTP hardware in place for most of them, so it seems Openreach are willing to waste that to downgrade them to FTTC.

TBH, I think we (as in lines on our phone pole) was only lucky due to our FTTP hardware at our phone pole was live and supplying FTTP to just one home, so when we pointed that out (after many emails etc) we got it.
