Considering you live in an area that didn't get ADSL until about 3 years into the roll out process, you're pretty lucky to be in with a sniff of FTTC this early on.

Also, from perusing your posts, we can see you have a long line, so likely live on the edge of the exchange area and possibly quite far from your nearest cabinet.

It's not really a joke...there are plenty of places likely to be ahead of a small south Wales town.

orly,
Don't understand how you can say we will not get ADSL for another 3 years??????????
as far as I'm aware I have an ADSL2+ setup now. Yes I have a longish line and live about 2.5miles from the exchange and nope sorry the new Fibre DSLAM is 40meters away.
Well we think it's a joke the comment BT made, for the following reasons:-
There are 2 exchanges and my is not being upgraded
Not on the roll-out Plan until after 2015
No cabs
Lack of cable
shortage of staff and the list goes on & on.
It's the 2 exchanges that are a joke my dad can have FTTC but I can't, no matter what was said the Sales staff still say there's 2 exchanges and the address they give is a junction and 2 road names lol.
I understand no matter what BT are always right and we are wrong byut what the hell

I think you've misread what Orly posted. He said: "didn't get ADSL until about 3 years into the roll out process", not that you won't get it for 3 years.

Indeed, like my town, the largest town in the county in Mid Wales!

But in the scheme of things, even your area is "small"

BT seem to be makinhg exactly the same mistakes that they made with ADSL and focus on rooling it out to the large central exchanges where take up tends to be low as they have a high level of small businesses and most dont need high speed Broad band

BT are pretty useless at planning & marketing hence the constant shifting sands and conflicting information from them. I doubt BT will ever change though.

Currently BT have only about 10 exchanges already enabled or scheduled to be enabled in the whole of Wales

It looks as if VM are going to move in though to fill the gap. They have restarted cable roll out within their exsting Cabled areas to fillin areas that were missed or onlypartly cabled and to cable to new estates in those areas so BT could end up loosing out a VM Phone,/Broadband/ Fibre HS Broadband is likely to be a more attractive option then BT's. Their Infinity pricing compares unfavorably with VM's

Ummm. I think their profit figures somewhat contradict that opinion.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre. Live BQM.

How do the profit figures somewhat contradict that opinion?

ROFL Ofcom determine the level of profit
