Re: Web Tapestry, possitive experience so far

Web Tapestry have increased their usage limit from 60GB to 100GB.

Now it doesn't say this anywhere on their web site, on their terms and conditions or fair usage pilocy. But in the control panel for the product I'm subscribed to it clearly states I have a monthly 100GB download limit now.

Web Tapestry still have a long way to go to get their communications organised properly, but their product is stable so far and I've had no issues at all (fingers crossed it stays that way).

Their "second" web site has listed 100GB for the last couple of months:

http://new.webtapestry.net/broadband_superfast.html

As you say, they really need to get their act together. The BBC ran a story about web retailers losing millions because accuracy/consistency/spelling errors destroy trust and consumers are unwilling to risk doing business with companies they don't trust.

Thanks for posting, there's very little in the way of public opinion about Web Tapestry floating around at the moment.

My cabinet is set to be activated on the 1st September and at the moment Web Tapestry seem to be the only contender for my needs (reasonable usage, static IP, < £30pm).

What do you call "reasonable usage", and does the £30 include the phone line rental?

No, that doesn't include line rental.

Define reasonable, well here are my monthly stats for this year (Download, Upload, Total)...

2011-07 36.01 GB 10.40 GB 46.41 GB
2011-06 44.00 GB 2.53 GB 46.53 GB
2011-05 40.89 GB 4.66 GB 45.55 GB
2011-04 17.95 GB 7.15 GB 25.10 GB
2011-03 30.39 GB 14.51 GB 44.90 GB
2011-02 45.94 GB 22.22 GB 68.16 GB
2011-01 39.43 GB 20.03 GB 59.46 GB

I could live with a 100GB cap, as that would leave some room for growth on top of a heavy month. What I don't want is to be watching my usage, cutting back or leaving large downloads until the weekend.

That should fit into IDNet Plus Fibre or Pro Fibre, especially if you pay the year up-front like I did, and also of you do any over-night scheduling. Fixed IP address is standard, latency is rock-solid for me - click the live BQM link in my sig.

No traffic management. Unlimited uploads.

Web Tapestry does sound good, though the difference in price between the Broadband Max and Office max products seems extreme - thus making me wonder if there are any hidden restrictions on the former.

I see that OfficeMax includes priority and enhanced care: that adds at least £20/mo based on the charges from BT Wholesale.

Quite. There doesn't seem to be anything else extra. So what is the price about?

Based on their new packages...

http://new.webtapestry.net/broadband_superfast.html

Superfasthome for £25 a month seems reasonable.

+ £5 for Superfastoffice basic adds 20 clock hour repairs, seems reasonable if it's important to you.

+ £15 for Superfastoffice premium adds 7 clock hour repairs, elevated network priority and an extra 50GB bandwidth.

Seems acceptable for a 'business' product, compared to the symmetrical ethernet connection that we pay over £500 for each month at work the £20 jump between the home and office premium product is nothing.

IDNET do look good, however the 30GB peak time cap on the Home Plus Fibre package is a bit tight. If I had a few days working from home I wouldn't want to be watching my usage, and whilst the overall allowance is generous I don't want to be scheduling things to download at certain times.
