Re: FTTP Rollout...

Someone on the BT forums got FTTP from Ilford Central. My friend can also order FTTP, the BT infinity website says its available.

I was told by BT that FTTP is still in trial(which ends at the end of December) and should go live shortly after and I will be able to get it then. Do you live close to the exchange itself? It seems only lines near are in the catchment area so far.

So yeh, I say have a look in Jan, should be ready then.

Thanks for the info, good to know that the exchange has some FTTP clients. Did you talk to BT Infinity sales?

I understand that exchange connected lines would get access to FTTP first as these will have the shortest run of fibre. However those are also the people who have access to ADSL2+ at 15-20Mb already. I am over 4km from the exchange so I have no idea when BT OR will certify my cab as one where they will support running fibre. Arguably people like me will benefit more from the fibre rollout as our speeds should go up 20-30x whereas those close to the exchange will see an uplift of 3-5x.

Thanks again for the info.

i dont think there will be FTTP any tuime soon unles it os on one of the 6 exchangs or in Bradwell Abbey -- The mythical spreadsheet was a FTTP/FTTC decisoning spreadhseet not a deployment splreadsheet (hence none deployed as yet as they may not be FTTC

I was offered a place on the trial in Highams Park by BT on 15th October and declined

This was well after a year the spreadsheet said it was ready for orders

I was put off by the BT sales patter and only having 2 months left for the trial to run

I would likely get the full speed

I think Muswell Hill might have been FTTC and there were a lot of issue over planning permission

It areas where both FTTC and FTTP is stated it will be one or the other, but not both

I'm seriously annoyed with the monkeys at Ilford Central. What on earth is going on? The fttp equipment was put up on the poles along my street last SUMMER and yet nothing in terms of go live has happened.
