...i know south korea is planning to upgrade to 1gbps by the end of the year, because that's due to gouvernment investment, something bduk could learn from. plus people are paying for speeds they aren't getting pay £35 pm for 20 meg, when you are only getting 5, it's even cheaper in S KOREA.

lol S.Korea - bet you wouldn't like living in the densely populated areas said speeds are rolled out to - its all about how many people a fibre can serve - do you think the rural areas of S.Korea also enjoy the same fibre the city's do?

The S Korean plan is to have a minimum 100Mbps available throughout the country by the end of 2015.

I found a page I think on the BT site where you could register your interest and ask to be informed once it became available.

Feeding your number in and persuading your neighbours to do likewise may help convince them there is demand.

I also fed several numbers into the BT checker on a weekly basis to see when we were going to get it. (I am sure they must have something running to see who is checking as they are the most likely to go for it.)

I am not sure if either of these made any difference but we live in an area that previously was only able to get about 3.4 megbits per sec and the village is relatively small and rural. We got FTTC last September.
