Hi everyone, I am moving home on Saturday. I have checked openreach we site and it says fibre is a available in my area. NN188PY. However after just speaking to sky and completing my home move I have been told it is not available. Am lost, I thought if bt infinity was available then sky would have it in place to? Am I wrong?

Well the December 2011 spreadsheet says that your cabinet 10 was planned to be enabled in phase 5b- thats long been past.

Their have been a few posts about this area- though you where on cabinet 10 last time, can you order from any other provider?
As Sky may not have ordered their GEA link at the exchange- needs to be done before they can take FTTC orders.
Also what does the BT wholesale address checker say- as you have a non bt phone line

I haven't tried anyone else tbh. I have everything through sky you see.

The postcode checker on Sky's web site says fibre is available so I would try and speak to someone in their fibre department just to double check.

Mind you if fibre has been available for a while there is the chance there are no more fibre connections available which is why you were told it's not available.

Well, the BT checker says it's available, as per my post above.

i hope to get a call from sky fibre team to sort this out, as all i was told was it is unavailable and to register my interest online on the sky fibre interest sheet. if i can find a tel no for them i will ring them. cheers

I have called sky and been told nothing can be done yet regarding fibre as the house move has to complete first. Sky tv on the 26th, tel line active 28th. Only then can I chase to get fibre. Which I think is B.S. to be honest.

Sky usually require a line with Sky Talk active on it before broadband can be provisioned. I've had this situation twice in the past 10 years when I've had a new line installed with Sky. The first time I had no broadband for 6 weeks because the messed up the order and tried to put the order on someone elses line.
