Re: Accessing FTTC inside my house.

I wont touch anything to do with the Master socket, I have not even got any extensions

I am getting a good 13-15 MB/s with my homeplugs but I am considering using some cat5e and route around the outside of my house to increase network performance for my server and WAN

hence the free extension with fttc install, I am under the impression can get adaptors for twister pair to cat5e

going for this I think

How will they connect the master box to the extension that I have and am currently using? Will it be done behind the plasterboard or will they want to route a cable externally up my stairs and into the relevant room? I'm happy for there neat solution and to pay for it but don't want cable trailing everywhere.

The engineer will normally do a surface mount, there is not the time in the install window to do complex internal runs.

If you have ducting, or a route to use, then putting a pull through so they can quickly and easily use the preferred route will usually work, but no obligation, i.e. within rights to refuse and give you choice of leaving kit for you to do it.

Still confused - if the wiring you are looking to use if just CW1308 telephone wiring, then not really any good for an Ethernet service, not enough twists, but probably would work.

The ebay item looks fine, just avoid having too much of the cable indoors due to fumes if there ever was a fire.
