We are awaiting permission for some traffic management to complete the fibre connection.

Can MrSaffron explain what does this mean? Traffic Management? I thought FTTC is unlimited.

LOL, you was a bit too focused on data there, think traffic lights and workmen digging holes.

FTTC isn't always unlimited, that depends on the supplier and the package you order.

I must say, thought she was a rude sod to me, very condescending and I picked her up about it for which she did apologise.

Just tried explaining that my cabinet that there was one cabinet that appeared to be no worse that any other cabinet, yet unlike other cabinets and even recent cabinets, waiting 4 months for a resolution (23 metres of trunking) which OpenReach which were doing that on other newer cabinets two weeks after install!

Expressed my amazement that this was out of kilter to BT's usual standards and could she offer any thoughts. She did a load of chest beating about how wonderful BT was and they' don't have time to do a detailed analysis (which I never asked for - but surely some project manager somewhere will know some overall status - maybe not, so not surprising the problems), and about how everybody wants their cabinet fixed first.

Erm, nope, I just want to be dealt with in order along with every one else.

Tried to ask as an aside who I can report a potentially dangerous and faulty metal man hole cover in the road to. She ignored me.

Are you sure it is Olivia Garfield you are corresponding with?
For someone who read German and French at Cambridge the grammar in her replies to you has been remarkably poor !!

I suppose the task could have been delegated?

There is a dedicated page on the Openreach website to report such matters.

The fifth bullet point reads "Loose, cracked or missing manhole covers".

100% Linux and, previously, Unix.

Everybody knows it's easier to learn to read rather than write.
