What Stephen has told you is about as simple as it gets. I can only tell you for OSX sorry, but it's pretty similar.

Here is my ISP's guide to setting it up on Windows 7: http://support.zen.co.uk/kb/Knowledgebase/Fibre-Broa...

On Windows that means that you must go into Network Settings and create a new network. Configure it for PPPoE, with a username of '[email protected]' (actually there are lots of others that will work), and any password you like.
Uh uh!

Just spotted what's wrong there. He's on Plusnet, not Infinity, so needs his normal Plusnet login username and password.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.6/14.1Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Thanks all. I manage to get openreach modem connected to windows 7 fibre PPPoE from openreach lan port 1 but I cannot access openreach modem http:192.168.1.1 to check connection stats. Do i need another cable from openreach lan port 2 to pc to get openreach connection stats?

I've just realised Stephen gave you the Infinity details. You need to use your Plusnet normal login(username@plusdsl.net) and password.

Yes, you need to plug an ethernet cable into LAN2 to access the stats

ou've got internet access now then? smile

You won't be able to get stats as before because you haven't got a port on your computer to connect to LAN2. You haven't got a LAN network.

What might work would be to set up a second computer with a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.50 and plug that into LAN2. You wouldn't get internet access on it, but you may be able to get the stats.
