Re: Just become FTTC enabled

Yes the ones who noticed are correct. My service is ADSL MAX, my error.
You are also correct that I was under the impression that the 17MB deal was fibre, it is indeed ADSL MAX.....Although I have never heard of anyone getting anywhere near 17MB on that service.
I found out these things myself today when I rang BT.Long story short, ended up ordering Infinity 38MB with Homehub 5 for only £2 per month more than my ADSL MAX contract!
Pretty much a no brainer t that point.
The advisor checked my line capabilites and said I was in an exceptionally low contention area and "it" was showing 40> 41 MB avilable.
So more enlightened and happy with the deal... Cabinet engineer booked 16th Jan so sit and wait until then..
Thanks for all the thoughts and advice, learning all the time............

It should be great!

Bear in mind that the phone wiring in the house is more important on VDSL2 than on ADSLx, but given your estimates it probably won't affect you even if yours is a mess.

Let us know how it goes, and come back if there are any problems smile.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.4/14.5Mbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

Been through the house wiring as best as I can, no extentions, good filters where fitted, had master socket updated by BT a year or so ago, uneeded wires left unconnected, twisted pair replaced socket to homehub, instead of cheap supplied one.All cables kept short as poss and not running near mains cable.
Phone line from post to house replaced a year ago.
Not much more I could thnk of .
