Re: My exchange is enabled - will I get FTTC ?

That's good news. Just a word of caution though. Don't get too hopeful about the date. It can go back 3 months during the last week or so of December.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.0/13.9Mbps @ 600m.

No. And your link gives a blank within the Pegswood thread.

I read online that Morpeth is going to get an exchange cabinet for those on an EO line. Does anybody know when this is going live?

I took a quick look and it seems that there are to be 3 more cabinets (22, 23, 31) for that exchange.
Cabinets 22 and 23 seem to be for the EO Lines however cabinet 31 (mostly for PCP31 lines) may also support a few EO lines along with cabinets 11 and 24.

It looked like there was plans for some EO lines to get FTTP, but now seems most likely to get FTTC.

As for when, I cannot see any dates apart from this:

Exchange Name: Morpeth
Exchange Code: NEMP

Cabinet: 22
Fibre Phase: Phase BDUK Northumberland 12b
Fibre Information: FTTC Planned (exchange ready 12th December 2013)

Cabinet: 23
Fibre Phase: Phase BDUK Northumberland 12b
Fibre Information: FTTC Planned (exchange ready 12th December 2013)

Cabinet: 31
Fibre Phase: Phase BDUK Northumberland 11b
Fibre Information: FTTC Planned (exchange ready 12th December 2013)
How correct this info is I don't know.

Paul

I emailed the guys over at iNorthumberland to see if they have had any more infor regarding my line on the exchange, and this is the reply:

Thanks for the information. You are served by the new cabinet being installed outside the telephone exchange. There was a lot of work on this over the last week (the cause of the roadworks in the area!) so now that this is complete we hope the services will be live within the next 2 to 3 months.

If you have signed up at www.inorthumberland.org.uk/pledge then we will email you once orders can be placed.

So fingers crossed, it should be soon!! smile

Yup, fingers crossed.

BTW, how far are you from your exchange?

You are served by the new cabinet being installed outside the telephone exchange.
If the new cabinet is that close to the exchange and your on a lengthy line, you may not get full speed.

Paul.
