FTTC CABINET INSTALL DIARY

Hey guys! I've got two FTTC Cabs being installed this week. I though I would show you guys what goes on in the install!

BT experts please help me on whats going on so I can get a better understanding. I can maybe do fibre checks for people, but I really don't understand the technical side of things! LOL

Re: pic 1. It's a form/mould for the concrete base which the cabinet is bolted to.

And it is not a shell, the cabinet arrives with everything pre-installed as its lifted out of the shipping container by a crane.

The grey drainpipe is the ducting.

Hey guys, day 2 of PCP 1 Danehill construction. It's day 1 for PCP 2 however.

I see the FTTC cab gained some paving slabs for the tie-cable engineer to stand on, or set a chair on.

Some good pictures of the ducting being set in position.

Am I correct in thinking the large distribution pole behind obstructing the view of the "National Speed Limit" sign, is for Electricity, leading on to the one further back?

But as ever, the PCP itself didn't. Muddy boots all round for the location where the bulk of all the work is done.

As the premade plinth was in place standing cab on day 1 makes perfect sense, its just a lift off the crane and secure to base job. The fiddling bits are the duct to old PCP and wiring in the copper link and getting the power up running and signed off.

Nothing much has happened. No one turned up for PCP2 today, only BT did patching on PCP1 today: Picture

Question: Do BT engineers work on Saturdays?
