Fibre availability

Hi all

Long time lurker never posted before.

On the side of our future (we are moving to this area soon) exchange/cabinet there is a sticker showing "fibre is here" yet on the bt wholesale service checker website it says its "under review" and no isp websites show that fibre is available in our area.

We are moving from a Virgin area 150mb/s to a non Virgin area (qouted 17mb/s) so quite keen to get fibre if available.

Does any one know what the situation will be? Does the sticker on the cabinet really mean its "going to be here"??

The sticker is no guarantee, for example a cabinet near mean me had the sticker on it for at least 3 years and it's not live yet.
Post the particulars and someone maybe able to provide more info

Looks like FTTC is only available for some properties ...a bit unfair

Totally normal each cabinet can only serve a small area.

What cabinet number is phone line connected to?

It looks like cabs 2, 4 and 7 have been activated - two as part of Superfast North Yorkshire and one from the Durham project.

Your line needs to be connected to one of these.

I don't know what phone number its connected to as I have not moved into the house yet.

How do you find out what cabinets are attached to what lines??

Use the BT Wholesale checker and click on "Address Checker" (not "Postcode Checker") - that should give you the cabinet number.
