Awesome. Not even a cabinet.
Why will bt not look at other stuff. I believe in america they have tested a vdsl system that will span over 3.5km.
I suppose bt don't earn enough!!
Will cans and string work for bband?
Lol.
Thanks for your help. I shall not hold my breath, or go with bt. ( even though it's all owned by bt round here)

BT are investigating many things. But, BT are also governed by Ofcom who set the regulatory framework and some things (such as frequency bands) are restricted. Some is to do with working with other technology as well (VDSL could run faster if it didn't have to co-exist with ADSL).

BT have many options in test and I suspect a lot more than the ones we already know about. They spend a lot on R&D but testing something is very different to deploying in the real world.

A sub pillar, which is basically an overgrown cable junction. So these don't usually get a fibre twin.
It's not brown, it's rusted green...

The worst bit is I bet I pay more for my rubbish bband than people do for decent broadband. In my opinion bt are a bit rubbish.!!
I don't seem to be able to add a photo?https://www.google.com/maps/@52.464193,1.149569,3a,13.1y/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sRQJXxqvVLWYW4JqA294NRQ!2e0

I have now dropped my adsl2 and adsl2+ for the adsl max. Now connecting at 4874Mb down. 5.7dB Snr.
How do you get 4.8M when the checker says 'up to 1'?

An SCP; the "1/1" tells you it is SCP 1, off PCP 1.

There have been a case where a village paid for an upgrade, and their SCPs were upgraded ,,, possibly by converting into PCP's first.

The rollout in Northern Ireland has exhausted their "far" PCP's, and are having to introduce new "all in one" boxes deeper in the network. This location might be ideal...

There's also been news stories (on this site) about GEA-over-ADSL2+, and the prospect of long-range VDSL. And FTTRN in perennial trial. And vectoring.

There's plenty of "looking at" going on ... but not a lot has reached the "approved" state.

...Because the estimates are often well out smile
When I was on ADSL the BT checker said around 2 when I connected at 6!
