Indeed, which is why I doubt Openreach will bother going down the route of seeking approval to use the 30a profile. It would only really benefit those who are very close to the cabinet, in which case G.fast will always be superior anyway.

If I am in charge of BT Openreach as I would get uk 100% fibre to the house (100% fiber) and goodbye to outdated copper telephone lines. To do this I probably asked the government to fund £3.5 billion pound to get it rolled out.

FTTH for 1Gbps down and 50Mbps up. smile

Current calculations put it at £30Bn for full FTTP rollout. Probably need another 50,000 engineers to do it in any sort of reasonable time frame.
