My take on the two stats posts you have made.

I concur.

In reply to a post by MHC:
Attenuation at 14.6 suggests somewhere around 300m - mine at 16.4dB is around 440m.

My previous property had attenuation of just under 17dB. It was around 375m.

When first installed (cab was 18 months old by then), attainable was around 90/25. 3 years later, it was about 78/22.

In reply to a post by MHC:
It does, to me, point to a VERY noisy line whether it is from cross talk, external noise, a bad/noisy power supply or something in your house causing the problem.

At which point, seeing the Hlog, QLN, SNR/tone and bits/tone graphs can help.

I know my line route - almost exactly! I can walk it from the cabinet to home and it is almost the shortest feasible. Hence teh 440 - potentially the difference between your 375 and my 440 could be wire gauge!

Hence my comment about getting DSL ststs working!

Same here .. as in I can walk the route really easily and it's shortest possible.

I'll see what I can do with the line stats though.

route walk could be straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer to the cabinet (PCP) where FTTC next to it!

Just for info Max. I know the route.. and you can walk it.
I watched them install the ducts/manholes and even helped the contractor who pulled the cables through.

Plus its an AIO so no separate FTTC cab.

Re: Update after engineer visit.. hmmm

So, my local BT OR engineer came out, he's a very nice chap and he did the normal tests.

Tested at master socket Sync around 49/20 (same at the door so eliminated internal wiring etc)
Tested at DP which is about 100m's and again pretty much the same, minimal loss between DP and home.
Tested at the AIO Sync 80/20 there.
Line (depending on which device used was between 275 and 350m) but of a variance there of course.

Interleaving was active on down but not up.
No G.IMP available apparently on the AIO.

So still left scratching heads. Both of us felt we should be getting more, new lines etc and no crosstalk issues being flagged on the tests.
No spare pairs unfortunately to test.

So will have to see if I can escalate in order to investigate more. This of course may be futile but something doesn't seem quite right. Will also be speaking to neighbours to see what speeds they actually get to see if its just me.

Apparently on remote tests there were lots of errors shown so they have capped the line on a 55/20 profile at the moment.

Hmmm...

So is this saying the problem is somewhere between the DP and the cabinet?

Yup.. it would appear that way.
Getting anyone to look into it more though is more difficult.

If there's no spare pairs then escalating will be useless. They'll not install a new bundle of cables.

Can't see why you will have difficulty getting it looked into as you are below the minimum estimate for Range B (impacted).

Talking to your neighbours is a good idea.
