Didn't realise that the CodeLook data was so easy to find online!

Says that my cabinet is due by April 2017, if thats true then its only going to be around 8-10 weeks from when they dug the hole for the new cabinet. Quick!!!

Yes correct but bringing out newer PCP shells for all re-shells and new PCP's making the upgrade for the gfast pod easier. No cutting of the shell required just remove blanking plate and bolt on to either side.

Obviously this will be ideal for commercial locations making the upgrade cheaper and quicker, in this case if a BDUK area then I can't see it being used anytime soon.

Take that with a pinch of salt. They're very very rough estimates.

The Openreach checker is much more accurate and is updated daily.

The ADSL speed would give a fairly good indication of what VDSL speed might be expected in the case of an EO line. The ADSL speed would allow and estimate of line length and that, in turn, would enable an estimate to be made of the VDSL speed.

However, a quicker way might just be to work out how far you are away from the new cabinet, especially if it's along the same route the cable will take. Throw in some assumptions about the type of cable and you'd get a reasonable guide. At 1km you might scrape into the 24mbps region, if it's 500m then expect maybe 60mbps. By the time you get down to 250m then 80mbps ought to be possible,

However, no guarantees.

Unless there is some aluminium in the run? Wouldn't that upset the distance-based estimates, whereas current ADSLx real attenuations reflect it?

Or (genuine question) did EO lines just not get laid using aluminium?

Our cab went to the activate stage the same day as yours and just went live this morning. Shouldn't be long now.

TalkTalk - ADSL2+ - 3.5Mbps down - 0.6Mbps up
