it now appears that the FTTH infrastructure in my little lane is active as the checkers now say WBC FTTP available. BUT not when I input my number but does when I use a neighbours number?? the neighbours would be connected to the manifold at the top of the pole in my garden! but it says I cant get it. Grrr... Does anybody know how I can get the database updated so that at last I can order fttp

A politely worded email to Mr.Saffron can sometimes help.

Technically your chosen ISP should be able to get BT to update the database. If that fails then MrS may be happy to help.

When you say "number" do you mean "phone number" or "house number"?

If you've been checking by phone number, it's worth trying the Address Checker too (note: not the postcode checker!) The address checker lets you enter a postcode, and then select a specific address from a list.

In the event they've listed your property with more than one variant of the address, try them all.

If your phone service is with a full LLU provider that would explain the problem, since BT Wholesale have no knowledge of where that number is i.e. full LLU numbers can move around

OK, so definitely try the Address Checker. In the address screen, just enter the postcode. Then on the next page it should give you a drop-down list of named houses to choose from.

As regards LLU: that would explain it if the BT checker didn't recognise the number at all ("There is no data available for this number") . But if the BT checker recognises the phone number, and says ADSL is available but FTTP is not, I think that's a different problem.
