So here is what my contact from BTW has said....

ive checked the status of this site, and sometimes (with it being so newly open i.e. Thursday last week) it can take a few days to open all the child sites associated with the head end to be opened for accepting orders. This *may* be whats causing the amber flag. I have chased the team to open all the sites this afternoon, and I have in parallel asked Openreach if they have a capacity issue.
I will check BBAC again tomorrow and see if this resolves the issue of the amber flag.

Don't know if we where hopeful this would have sorted the amber status or if 24 hours wasn't long enough to allow the checker to update but its still amber today frown spoke to an engineer at the cabinet today and he said that its not a capacity issue at the cabinet but couldn't say anything about exchange side.

So no one is quite sure what the amber status is on my line but OR have advised BT/BTW that it shouldn't affect the order. They also got someone to go to the cabinet and check the line length which is 242m.

It seems that since I ordered the same day the exchange went live and despite the availability checker showing Available at the time that the site didn't go live until the next day on the BTW side, so OR checked and said that the order was actually cancelled on their side 3 minutes after I placed it and BTW said the same but the BT system didn't pick up on that and it showed as though the order was progressing.

So the order has been placed again and seems to have gone through correctly this time and an OR engineer should set this live Tuesday, although the guy in OR is trying to bring this forward to Monday if possible.

Installation underway. The Engineer was at the cabinet 20 minutes ago and then disappeared, still have internet so lets see what happens.

Edit: Looks like he is back at the cabinet.

Hope you get some decent speeds, I am hoping PCP11 is delayed for g.fast and is a candidate for FTTP through fibre first in the future.

Looks like Openreach are doing loads of work along Drumchapel road, probably initially for the EO lines within Colquhoun park area of Bearsden.

Bearsden is currently under planning for FTTP (Of Course smile but with the "Greater Glasgow" announcement yesterday you might be a candidate for FTTP, I think the problem with my location in Blairdardie is the trainline and may have been the reason they decided against FTTP up here initially.

The guy showed the line doing around 160 down and 30 up, said that line looked healthy and it may be able to support faster speeds and that BT may be capping it with the IPProfile. So I might give BT a call see if we can get the profile changed as I did signup for Ultrafast Fibre 2.

BT website was showing "Minimum Speed: 170Mb" and "Download Speed: 205Mb-234Mb".

It's more for the reliability of a physical fibre cable over the copper used up there, to be honest.

Not a pressing need, it is the connection I use when I am up visiting family. Though interestingly enough there is loads of Openreach activity on Drumchapel Road, Canniesburn Road, Pendicle Road and Station Road between the Bearsden and Drumchapel exchanges, which leads me to believe they are hooking the two exchanges up for extra backhaul reasons.

First step is what speed is the Smart Hub saying you are connected at?

A move from VDSL2 to g.Fast should give immediate improvements in sync speed and throughput
