Well despite being a 'couple' of miles from home I found out my road was being worked on last week, sounds like the fibre has now been installed, I'll know for certain next month.
Now it seems I need TalkTalk to get on board with BT fibre or I'll be leaving them at end of contract, if not before if the cost of getting out of contract is not too high, or I suppose I could even add fttp on top of what I already have, when I get home I'll have to investigate.

Bit of an update, came home couple of weeks ago and have been trying to find out what was going on, the bank and further up road had been worked on, but no sign of anything on pole, couldn't get an answer from any source.
Well today a OR engineer was at chamber next to our pole, it appears that new ducting has been laid ready for fibre, but not expected for several months

Vans just turned up outside, chamber open and duct is being checked for fibre to go in and up the pole.

Saw the Rumanian's about when I left this morning, came back and looks like we are getting there.

This morning they came back and fixed the fibre to the pole, as seen here to left of pole taken from directly below where my copper line fixes to house.

This leaves me with the question, how will I find out when I can get fibre to the house?

When the Openreach checker says you can get it, then the retailers should be ready to take an order

Keep checking the wholesale availability checker, wait until it says WBC FTTP available.

Today doing my regular check and I notice that the FTTPoD has jumped from 330 to 1000Mbps, not sure if this is the 'new standard' or it reflects work done in the area.

BT Wholesale are now selling 1000/220 and 500/165. It seems that whenever your database entry gets touched for any reason, that's what it gets set to.
