Go to this site https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ and click Address Checker to find out what the FTTC Range A Clean are for the max speed.

You already just beaten me as you just found it. OK, your max speed are likely to be between 57 and 80

For some people to speed improvement is minimal but from what we have seen you do seem to be inline for a big jump

Thanks my fingers are crossed, £2.50 on top of my old faster fibre contract and my new Wi-fi hub is being delivered tomorrow by courier (just received their text) so one happy TT customer here (you don't read that often)
I will update this when i get the new router and the boost has been enabled.

Well, just to forewarn of a common complaint .

If you don't get an immediate improvement (up and down) switch the router off for a minimum of 30 minutes. This "forces" a new session, and hopefully re-initialises the line for 80/20.

Most people do not have to do this, but occassionally it is necessary and will be TT's first request if there are performance issues.

I assume Talktalk ask this to be done for their internal IP profiling and is just a standard request they ask of everyone.

OpenReach changing the line profile to 80/20 will not need a resync or any sort of power down of the modem.
A change of the DLM profile immediately initiates a resync with the new profile.

Sorry - they do not ask everyone.

Normally it is not needed, but just every so often DLM seems to "get stuck" and not fully complete the line regrade. Quite often the upstream performance improves immediately whilst the downstream remains at 40/10 levels. The power cycling usually corrects this.

Probably the difference between how things work in theory and how they work in practise.
