Re: Advice needed about moving ISP

I realy appreciate your replies, guys. Thank-you.

I phoned Virgin today and they eventually told me that I was going for a migration with the number transfer from Toople! They did get me worried initially as the first person told me I was getting a new number install but then backtracked and said it was a number transfer with the new account. Just to confirm, I phoned again and spoke to a different person to make sure that I was indeed getting my number transferred and that Toople had agreed to release the number! Just to verify, I also phoned and was told that Virgin had applied for the migration and they had agreed. I did it right! woo-hoo!
I did say to the Virgin CS that when the installer came if he tried to do a new install, I would refuse!

So it's all systems go ... *phew*! I should be getting my new 350Mbps (supposedly 5X faster) internet v.soon tho I do realize it may not be practically that fast depending on the load.

Fingers crossed for you smile.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

So I finally got rid of Toople and on Virgin on the M350 package. Also got my number transferred!

Glad to hear it went as planned and an OpenReach to Virgin number migration went seamlessly.

I'll be doing the same come April.

Currently Plusnet.
45/7.2 is the best I can get on a good day.

Virgins lowest offering beats that, though with a slightly slower upstream.
I'll go with the 100Mb or 200Mb package, unless they have a stupid offer on the 350Mb package.
I'm not interested in TV packages.

Moving is a no brainer for me.

I'm paying £45. However if you go through TopCashback, you get a cashback of £120 which means an effective price of around £38 (allowing for the setup fee) inclusive of VAT.

I only have telephone and internet as I have Sky separately.
