Those freeze dates will be referring to things like core network changes, rather than end-user orders
Totally agree most large companies have internal embargos during the run up to xmas and a week or so after new year, only emergency changes get signed off and need approval at the very highest level as nobody wants major system issues over this period.

Id still like to understand how FTTP speed is regulated. My hub shows connected at 1000Mbps, so is the speed regulated by Openreach equipment or BT equipment?

It's the line profile on the OLT - i.e. Openreach equipment.

The hub is reporting the speed of the Ethernet cable between the hub and the Openreach ONT i.e. Gigabit Ethernet

All ONT on a split are sharing 2.5 Gbps down, and elsewhere in Openreach network a line profile is set which limits each user to the speed they paid for.

So, final update from BT's "Executive Customer Resolution Team" this evening. There's nothing they can do, I have to wait until next year for the order to go through. Bitterly disappointed, and still find it unbelievable that BT can't somehow change the order date on their system. I also remain sceptical that this will get resolved automatically next year.
So the day has come when the order finally clears. Speedtest this morning shows Im getting 198 download and 20 upload. Strange that I seem to be on a 200/20 service, rather than a 150/30 service. I didnt know BT even offered a 200/20 service.

They do and Openreach charge about the same wholesale cost as the 160/30 product. There is also a 220/30 product coming live in March for the same price, so don't be shocked if you eventually get moved to that.

So an update and a question. BT's customer resolution team are convinced that our service is now on a 160/30 profile, and download speed to the hub looks fine at 143 Mbps, which is double what we were getting on the 80/20 profile.

But the upload speed to the hub is still only 20 Mbps, identical to the upload speed we were getting on an 80/20 profile. Although BT have at least agreed to investigate this anomaly further.

Speedtest Screenshot

So my question - what upload speed should we expect to get on a 160/30 profile? Can anyone who is on a .../30 service profile tell me what upload speed they get.

Thanks.

Thanks for confirming upload of 32 Mbps, thats given me the confidence to pursue this further with BT.

A question. Is it a common occurrence for Openreach to keep allocating the wrong profile? Were meant to be on 160/30, but first they put us on 220/20, and then 160/20. Surprised its so easy for Openreach to keep getting it wrong.
