Very odd as normally BTWholesale will NOT selling any G.fast if line length is over 300m - look like my G.fast is 220m away not 280m cos my VDSL2 is 250m away. Easy to get mix up with line length
BTWholesale don't pick who to sell G.Fast to, it's OpenReach.
There's no arbitrary cut off distance either. Not 300m or 350m.
The only thing that matters is the sync speed.
If a line is 400m and syncs at 130Mb/s on G.Fast then OpenReach will sell it.
If a line is 250m but only syncs at 90Mb/s then OpenReach won't sell it.
You're obsessing with the exact distance for some reason. It doesn't matter much.
You can be told a distance by 1 engineer and the very next day a different engineer could have a different figure.
I wouldn't expect a GEA test and and engineer to give the exact same figures either.
It depends on a number of factors including what test equipment is being used to measure line length.
My last couple GEA tests estimated line length varied by nearly 50m between the 2 tests.
