DLM only enables G.INP on quite stable lines. Not on error-prone ones like the OP's smile.

G.INP is enabled on every Huawei line.

Once in a blue moon is a line missed by DLM.

It will be available, but that is not the same as DLM deciding to use it or not.

Seeing as G.INP effectively turns off in-flight error correction in the modem and replaces it with packet retransmission, plus increasing the connection speed, the throughout would drop through the floor on high-erroring lines. It could also swamp the DSLAM.

The whole purpose of DLM is to attain stability of connection and throughout capability, with a compromise between connection speed and error rates. Given that the higher the sync speed the higher the error rate, always applying G.INP would not be a good idea.

I'm on an ECI cabinet.

Also, I've bitten the bullet and have ordered BT. Trying to get through to someone who knows what they're talking about at Vodafone is impossible. Migration to BT is on September 15, so let's see if there's any improvement. Still expecting an Openreach engineer visit this Tuesday though.

You what?

FEC is always used in addition to G.INP.

DLM used to miss a line once in a blue moon but that was back when DLM could take up to 8 weeks to be applied.

Now the DLM applies G.INP on every single line connected to a Huawei cabinet within a couple days of the line going live
Every single line.

What makes you think otherwise?

Looked to get confirmation from Vodafone today. Low and behold, it was all a lie. There was never an Openreach engineer booked. Honestly, Vodafone's broadband customer service is the worst.
