Long time listener, first time caller...
I appreciate a lot of people have asked similar things, but I can't seem to find a thread which addresses my situation and was just hoping for some advice.
I live on a farm in a rural location outside of Llanelli. About a year ago I spotted Openreach installing what I think are called track nodes to the poles on our lane and over the past 12 months every so often the road gets dug up to connect sections where the poles go under power lines etc. A couple of weeks ago Openreach were here again on the poles and I went out to ask how close we were to being able to place an order and the engineer said "hopefully within a week".
I work from home and this would make the world of difference to me, and I'm delaying investing in a 4g broadband contract to see if FTTP really does arrive.
The advice I'm specifically after is:
1. Every fibre checker etc. seems to indicate we can't order yet and doesn't mention the work. I also notice that our area is not marked for priority rollout. Could this mean that although the infrastructure is done, we may not actually be able to order for a long time potentially?
2. Would anyone be able to advise whether they think in my position it's worth waiting (if what I'm saying sounds positive), or whether I should just pursue other avenues as it could still be a year+ away?
Thanks!
