How are you testing your speed, wired or wireless ?

What line stats does the routers web interface show , sync rate, SNR and the like ?

The web interface of your G.Fast router, as mentioned.

G.Fast is a relatively flaky technology, in the sense that it's *very* sensitive to the quality of the line. This makes it very hard to predict accurately what speed you will get, prior to purchase.

What exactly did BT say about speeds when you ordered? Normally they give a wide range of predicted speeds. Did they give you 299Mbps as your guaranteed minimum speed? (To get this you'd have to be very close to the cabinet). If they did, then you have a case. If not, you may just have to accept what you get.

Type http://192.168.1.254 in your browser address bar.
This will open up the routers web interface, navigate to the technical logs, you’ll be prompted for a password which will be written on the router near the wifi one.

they said my estimated speeds would be 299-300 mbps. i used to get 213 mbps down with a wired connection now since a few days i have been getting 200 mbps down

upload speeds havent changed

and for the sync rate, snr and like i went to the technical log and i did not find anything like that in there

these might be the things you are looking for

Noise margin:4.3 / 3.9
Line attenuation:0.0 / 35.8
Signal attenuation:0.0 / 35.8

Is that the only info that section of the Hub gives? Not even the sync speed?

The DLM has set you on a 4dB SNRM (noise margin) target. It can go as low as 3dB.
Your line may have changed recently from 3dB to 4dB which would result in some speed being lost but nowhere near 100Mb worth.

When you signed up BT gave you both an estimated range and a minimum guarantee.
If you are below the minimum guarantee then report it to BT. They should hopefully be willing to send an engineer to investigate and attempt to increase the speed again.
