Hi, Anyone had any experiences with configuring a Draytek with Hey Broadband? I have set the WAN2 connection up, but only getting speeds of 50mbps downand 7mbps upload. Hey Broadband have configured their box in Bridge mode?

Hi, I have a 2860n. on WAN 2 > Static or Dynamic IP: set to enabled.
Obtain an IP address automatically and the IP address autopopulates

WAN Connection Detection Mode: ARP Detect
MTU: 1492
TTL : Change the TTL Value : ticked
RIP Routing : Not ticked
Bridge Mode : Enable Bridge Mode : Not ticked

Could it be a dodgy router?

Thanks

Know that the 2860 is a 7 year old device and is not gigabit WAN capable. There are some features you can disable to boost the performance of a 2860. My WAN2 is configured the same as you but with the MTU set to 1476 as that's what AutoDetect chose.

Things to check:

1. Make sure you don't have any QoS policies enabled.
2. Disable WAN1if it's enabled. It can affect WAN2 speeds on older models.
3. Disable Data Flow Monitor
4. Ensure Hardware Acceleration is enabled on WAN2.
5. You can also disable the Firewall for a boost in performance. This won't affect you unless you're port forwarding and/or restricting any outbound traffic or using IPv6.

Hi, I bought a new router, the Draytek 2927Lac, and straight away I'm getting speeds of over 600mbps, (we have the 400mpbs package) So yes was a router issue. Thanks for your help on this one

Also have a 2862. Is the conclusion that the router is past it, because Draytek assure me that it should be capable?

Also, Hey Broadband tell me they have to put the OMT into "bridge mode" (and that the phone will therefore not work) but why would they have to set the OMT to bridge mode?

TIA.

This is a little late but here for posterity.

I am running a Draytek 2862 and it works absolutely fine. I only have the 400Mb\s service but I regularly get 900+ during a speed tests.

Did HB put the ONT in Bridge Mode?

The ONT was originally put into a mode where I setup the connection using PPPoE on the router originally but it has since been converted to pure ethernet.
