@sprozon figured it out

you need the vlan id and it's available on the routing page of the Adtran ui, you'll see WAN.nn and nn is the id you need

Hi

Would also be interested to know if it works.

Will be getting a be-fibre soon and looking for ways to replace the adtran router.
I'll grab a TP-Link media converter but would appreciate any recommendations for a half decent router that will do the job (without wifi).

It might be a bit of steep learning curve for some but I really cannot fault OPNSense.
I use the method shown in this video with the exact same unit which can be bought ready to go for around £150 delivered.
Slap in more than the basic amount of RAM and SSD space and you can run 5+ small server appliances for pihole/Adguard/OpenVPN etc alongside it or to simplify it, just run OPNSense/pfSense bare metal.

Here's my graph of a Swish 900mbit connection.

My Broadband Ping

No bufferbloat or dropped packets and it is using at most 25% of one CPU core at a max of 6-8w power use. There is a not a consumer router that comes close for the price.

There are not that many cheaper options but any fairly recent x86 PC will work and a popular option are USFF/SFF PCs and devices designed for thin client use such as the HP T series. I have a T620+ as a backup option as it has a PCI-E slot for a dual or quad port NIC.

There are some great guides available though for this type of project e.g.

Thanks for confirming. Fibre Heroes have recently gone live in our area and BeFibre have the best deal at present of the few ISPs available. The router is putting me off, as well as the cancellation policy and the possibility of getting a CGNAT IP.

How have you found Be-fibre?

Their deal ends today, but £30 for 900Mbs is tempting

Cheers
