Openreach "Customer Connection Interface"

[link to this post]

Does anybody know whether the current CSP is being replaced, or are we just moving to having different options depending on installation type and region? The main change seems to be that this can take a blown fibre tube and a gas block so I guess you might see it used for EAD installs if the customer doesn't want a splice tray.

Product is here https://optservices.co.uk/products/cci?variant=43145... and there's a video at https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity...

Could also just be basic supplier diversity or cost cutting.

I don't mean replaced as in physically removed where they are installed, I mean replaced as in the Dexgreen product won't be installed once stock runs out.

Then for consumers it will make little difference.

My fibre is not even spliced, they used connectors. the boix is twice the size of the one BT uses, I don't know why they chose one so large.

OPT were previously used by Openreach for their fibre only CSP (came in grey, brown or white) and were phased out when the current copper/fibre CSP supplied by Dexgreen were introduced. I believe this is OPT's updated CSP to compete with Dexgreen version.

I have to say I have a white OPT CSP (fibre only) in my equipment room and I prefer the look of it to either the Dexgreen or the updated OPT.

Interesting to hear from the Openreach guys as they spend more time with this stuff than they do with their families.
