Maybe your fibre connection will come from a nearby larger exchange. I think that is why the exchange my telephone line goes to is also not listed.

No: the full-fibre build plan shows local exchanges, not headend exchanges. In other words, it's a list of "exchange areas", i.e. the smaller footprints around each local exchange, even though FTTP may be lit from elsewhere. If your local exchange isn't in the list, then you're not in the plan.

As for Mystic Meg: I'm afraid you'll need a seance to contact her for predictions.

The exchange I am interested in belongs to the Holyhead group of 9 exchanges. The Holyhead exchange is shown in the list as 'building now'. 4 of the other exchanges are listed and shown as 'building in the future' and 4 are not listed.

What do you think that Openreach will do about proividing FTTP in the exchange areas that are not listed?

Zzoom plan to cover 1 million premises by 2025. Openreach plan to cover 25 million by 2026. Zzoom and all the Altnets will be aiming to cover some of the same areas as openreach. Given the huge scale of the openreach program against all the Altnets, they are bound to tread on each others toes at some point.

They talk to their customers. You aren't their customer, the ISP is.

you do realise that not everyone has broadband or a phone, and not everyone wants to contact Openreach for that reason. Try contacting them when one of their poles is not standing straight.

Nothing to do with any AltNet's plans!

You just keep believing that. Apart from one road here, they had very little interest in providing fibre here, well not as quick as they did. If Zzoomm did not come along i expect it would have been another couple of years at least.

Lets talk facts rather than gossip down the pub after a few beers, Openreach don't just rock up and start pulling in cables, there are months of design work and pre-work (longer for big towns/cities) before the build phase can start so what you're saying is just not true. It may appear to some that they are just chasing the tails of altnets but honestly you really surprise me that you don't take much in from this forum.

Sure, this city have been on Openreach list for a while, for full fibre, but we were told another couple of years at least and that was just before zzoomm started announced that they were coming here. That shocked me to be honest, and I still wonder why they came here, as I doubt they even heard of the city. It is very fishy that just after Zzoomm put fibre down my road that Openreach followed.

I realise what you are saying, but this is a small city, ok it has some large estates, but still a small city, We normally don't get stuff like this, and it is strange how all of a sudden, we now have two fibre networks in the city. Well, still a bit not covered by Openreach.

I don't like openreach, I don't agree with a company having such an advantage in the market but then I don't like BT. the only reason why I went with plusnet was because at the time they were the only ones that could get me connected so quickly and the service was good, so I stayed, mainly lazyness. The same with staying with FTTC which I was going to stay on, mainly lazyness. But now FTTP is fitted and working I am glad I did it, not so much for the speed as it makes no difference to me, but for the price.

Hello, awaiting FTTP in my area, broadbandchecker says my exchange is a The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme

Openreach check says Build planned between now and Dec-2026
https://www.openreach.com/broadband-network/fibre-av...

Openreach pdf check says next 12 months
https://www.openreach.com/content/dam/openreach/open...

How likely is it to get fttp in next 12 months?

Thanks

Sorry about your thread having gotten so long and filled up with nonsense about overbuild.

The PDF covers your exchange area and is when the build in the area will start, it isn't specifically related to your property.

The Openreach check however is related to your property, so the two aren't contradicting each other they are giving different information.

The answer is no-one without insider knowledge can really give a likelihood only guesses. Sorry.

There are 3 altnets building out where I live and there has been very little increase in Openreach activity.
Two Alt Nets in Farnborough/Aldershot area, and the only OR FTTP is in the new housing estate where it is likely the builder funded it.
My nearest town already has full fibre from Openreach as well as Virgin (not sure what they provide) and I believe 2 altnets have recently announced plans so the town will be saturated with providers. For me I only have Openreach and don't expect anyone else will be coming my way and I am happy with that personally.

I currently have Openreach FTTP and 2 of the altnets have built to the end of my road.

At the moment I'm having problems with Openreach not being able to resolve a throughput issue which I've been having for about 3 weeks now. I'm only getting about 400 Mbps on a gigabit connection and having multiple dropouts every day.

Actually, from what I can make of it, Openreach announced they were building in Hereford on 29th July 2020.

https://www.openreach.com/news/west-midlands-include...

Whereas Zzoomm announced they were building in Hereford on 13th October 2020.

https://zzoomm.com/next-zzoomm-town-hereford/

So I venture that yet again you are making stuff up.

Things were better under Labour.

People who are interested in doing things rather than mouthing off would probably go onto the internet, search for "damaged telegraph pole" and be taken to this page (https://www.bt.com/help/landline/fix-a-problem/how-c...) which tells you that the poles are managed by Openreach and where there is an 0800 number to make an immediate report.
