FTTP availability

[link to this post]

Many months ago Openreach installed fibre to all the telegraph poles on our estate, they now have signs on them at head height warning that fibre is installed at the top of the pole
However FTTP is still listed as unavailable. As I said fibre was installed some time ago. How can I find out when it will be available to use, and what causes the delay?

Unless they have imminent competition*, perhaps it is best to assume they will deliver in Sweet Time?

* Not that having actual competition sped them up where I live.

30-ish months ago an altnet came past my house. Whilst the ducts had been recently desilted, Openreach's contractor (whatever Kelly's are called this week) came past and pulled the cables all in.

Within 3 months the altnet was up & running. The Openreach installed cables were still unterminated as recently as 3 months ago...
