Re: Possible to combine 2 different ISP FTTP lines?

Apologies for the long post! The 1Gbps would be more than enough for me personally, however for my work, I needed to get the second line for reliability as I need to be online all the time working from home!!

Are using different infrastructure providers IE Openreach / Cityfibre. If both connections using same infrastructure you have gain nothing but both having same vector of failure.

OP said that his current link is BRSK 900/900 - this certainly isn't Openreach, so if he picks an OR alternative he'll at least have infrastructural diversity, even if the chances are that both fibres run in the same ducting for most of the way back to the exchange!

Just out of curiosity, After getting the second FTTP line installed (I'll have one over head and one via the underground ducts). Is it possible to combine both of these 1Gbps FTTP lines into one 2Gbps line, or is this not possible?

Yes it possiable. But do want combined connections just for work?
The easy option would be talking to you work and for them arrange a bonded tunnel (VPN).

Well do really need that extra bandwidth. Is the extra expense really worth it?
Is something that happends in the background or something that stop from productive at completing your work?
That say be able to save 2/5/10/30/60 mins in a day (total) where does come cost effective to your productivity is the question. This is the question the bean counters will be asking.

This what pfSense/opnSense solutions excel at. But that just my opinion, and I have been known to be wrong at least once year.

It is possible but you'd need to pay for a service like sharedband.
If you were to get a DrayTek router like suggested by others it would only do failover or load balance so you'd get max of 1Gbps to a single device.

Thanks
Dan
