If it's a concern you could ask Openreach to cost out putting the service underground, but it's no more likely to get damaged than before. The pole was put up to deliver you a leased line, it was never for the exclusive use of your/a leased line.

And yet they charged me for it - I never asked ifor it and t was part of the ECC's - Every other line has managed since the 80's going another route. This pole has been up since 2021..

But fair enough

I paid for it after all in the ECC's

No, you paid for Openreach to extend their physical infrastructure to allow a service to be provided. The costs listed are simply their listed charge for them to build that piece of infrastructure, not that you are paying for the pole (the pole itself is only a proportion of that cost, the rest is the cost of labour, permits, etc for them to install it).

In terms of damage, the most likely kinds of damage to occur would occur regardless of whether other cables are in place as well (ie, something hitting the pole or a branch landing on the cables) so whether they have added more cables has a negligible bearing on that.

Well I can only go off what my invoice said - which amongst 455M of Fibre included a pole and a chamber rebuild at the end of my driveway.

I am also aware that the very route I paid £3588 to create is being used for the FTTP rollout. EE have offered me 2 years free as a thank you, which I have accepted.

The pole is behind a wall and there are no trees. I was concerned that the other wires might somehow damage my leased line wire

Sorry I asked,

It effectively covered the construction cost. This isn't unusual as there isn't any guarantee of more business. You have to make the judgment if you wait or pay to get it first.

Honestly it’s a bit of a silly question. Unless you’re just flexing. Whatever.

EE have absolutely no way of knowing who paid for the route the fibre is taking, they have no visibility of this, no access to records and aren't involved in the FTTP build so it saved them nothing. There is absolutely no chance of them giving free service on this basis.

Given you apparently cancelled the leased line when FTTP arrived this is a weird thread and the obviously untrue comment about freebies from EE just makes it weirder. I fully believe you could show a bill with discounts though nothing to do with poles, more whatever the staff discount is right now.

I cancelled the line with Virgin Media yes as I don't need it anymore .It runs out in Jan as I'm in the 30 days.

The NEOS one is still going. BT offered me the discount but now of course it's all going through the EE brand. I have an e-mail saying it I signed with them it will be free for 24 months,

Sure I can upload the original invoice if it pleases. I can also upload any month for the last 39 showing £370 for 1 line and £318 for the other (post VAT) I have 2 leased lines right now and I have no problem with proving either.

You let me know.

I have 2 children and 3 adults who's Medical equipment uses the line to keep their doctors and consultants up to date. it also allows them to control their meds and machines remotely. No flexing at all thank you very much.

I never asked to have to pay so much but I also never asked for sick family either. Think what you like. I was literally worried that extra wires connected to mine either end might cause a break. This is why I chose leased lines - 6+ hours without internet could literally be life or death.

But it was answered, so as you say "whatever"

It was not more business I was worried about. I had to have something more than ADSL so I had no choice and I also had to bare the cost of a leased line.
