Trooli install

[link to this post]

Hi guys,

Just recently moved house and no FTTP. Have gone with Trooli as have been recommended by a few friends. They contribute £600 to the costs to have FTTP installed, was originally quoted £1150 however I have chosen to undertake the works within the driveway myself (soft dig of about 12m) bringing the total quote to £650, meaning I'm only responsible for £50 of the install.

I should add, I would like the entry point into the house to be the front bedroom on the second floor.

I have the specified duct etc, but my question is, how do I terminate the duct at the house? Do I use, what I have found to be called an "elephants foot" and capping or can the engineer just cleat the cable to the wall up to the second floor?

Apologies if this is worded wrong or makes no sense.
Thank you

Just my opinion as I have never seen Trooli's installs

Normally there would be a connection/splicing point just above the duct end so other than doing the ducting and bringing it up next to the property (finishing about 50mm or so above ground level to prevent water ingression) I wouldn't do to much more unless you have been instructed to do so.

One last thing, what size duct are you using? if 50mm see if the guys doing the cabling have a duct plug (small piece of high density form that goes in the end of the duct) or if not chat up a Openreach guy if you see one working round your area as that will help keep the duct clear of stuff including unwanted rodents.
