Sorry, I meant Thamesway.
I'm obviously having, yet another, a senior moment!
I spent 10 years as a junior then senior CO in the Repayments Planning Dept (London South), which was stuffed round the back of Crayford TE.
Back in those days they expected you to leave when you had children.
My husband was a T1 at Croydon TSVC, he took redundancy when New Grid Grading was forced on him.
It was a nice place to work back then.
Seems like it's a bit of a nightmare these days, from what I hear.
Going self-employed was the best decision we ever made.
Any road up,
We wish you a long and healthy retirement.

Lizzie

I believe it was ‘Thameswey’ ….. After two of the rivers running through the area.

Not retired. But now working with the Wey and the Thames in a more ‘hands on’ capacity.

Received a letter just the other day ..

Reading Trunk … is what it is known as.

Picked up my first grey Piper logo’d Transit from there, kitted out top to bottom. I still recall the number plate.

A convertible moggy was the first car I ever drove.
I hasten to add, this was not in the early 60’s.
