Some blowout would have occured with those bricks, the brick above the new hole has flaking.None the less, extra work should have been done to cover up the blowout and sealing the hole- which it isn't .

The worst part is the copper - you can seet the cut, and its just left there. I'm not sure if you wanted your copper left in situ or not, but if the place was to retire the copper, then he shouldn't have done another hole.

My VDSL service was still active and actively being used when he cut it.
Drilling from the outside in is perfectly possible with careful measurements.

I didn't use the Onetouch system and arranged for it to finish today on its 1 year anniversary.

They are trained to drill from inside to out, the hole sloping down a little. This way you have the back box to cover the entry hole.

A customer was insistent once that I went from outside to in … so the drop wire could follow the edge of the timbers. She told me she didn’t care what damage occurred inside, and that her husband would make good. I repeated the warning, but she insisted. The plaster that came off inside was about 20cm in diameter 😱

She was happy with this … her husband arrived home not long after, and went ballistic at his wife after she explained what her instructions to me had been.

talking of that, i had them drill a new hole besides my old copper one because i wanted to use that hole for poe stuff and i really didn't want to drill it myself.

Anyhoo. Due to illness i left the poe stuff till this year. I found that the outside hole was slightly higher than the inner hole, which caused about 2 days of trying to get an external direct burial cat6 cable thru. So bt/openeach bodgewear has existed for quite a while.

You have already drilled through with metal bit … so poking a thinner bit of metal through after is at least AS safe.

hehe i did try a thin metal pole. That didn't work even though it went thru both walls. What did work was the old phone cable with a string atatched to the phone drop wire and the cat 6 cable. It came loose from the drop wire so in frustration i gave the string a good tug and it finally came thru the external wall.
