Disconnections at night

My Freeserve (FSNET) connection works fine during the day but from about midnight every night it disconnects repeatedly every 3 or 4 minutes. Is this a problem with the modem (USB), the line (BT) or the ISP?

It could very well be something to do with BT or the ISP as quite regularly work is carried out on thw backhaul systems between midnight and 6am.
