How long does it take to get a MAC code?

Hi everyone. I requested a MAC code from Orange on Friday afternoon (10th Nov) as I wish to move to Zen. I was told the code would be emailed to me within 48 hours, but it's now been 72 hours and I haven't received it yet.

Should I be contacting Orange again, or wait a bit longer? I believe I am on an LLU line now, will this mean it takes longer to issue a MAC?

I was told 2 working days, so I suppose it depends on Orange's definition of a working day. But it took 3 (week) days for mine to arrive. It being LLU shouldn't take any longer for it to arrive, but it will make it harder for it to be accepted, in my experience.

Requested my MAC code on Sat at 3:30pm and it arrived in my inbox at 11:00am Mon (today) they said at the time it would take 2 days.

It was headed Customer Service on e-mail instead of the usual orange heading and Confirmation of MAC key, just incase you may have deleted it.

Thank you everyone for the replies, I've only just been able to read them because I've been having the same connection problems that others here have experienced for the past 2 days.

I rang Orange yesterday and they said my request had only been processed on Monday and I should receive the MAC today. I haven't had it yet. Guess another phonecall is in order. I just hope it works when I do eventually get it!

I requested a LLU MAC on a Monday and received it on the Wednesday. I was beginning to think that maybe our MAC was a duff one as the migration to our new ISP took a week longer than expected, but apparently that was down to BT. We were still connecting to Orange all that time, and only lost connection for 10 minutes when the migration eventually went through.

I phoned Orange the next day to cancel the account, and was surprised to be told they would credit us for what was left of the month. I have just checked our credit card, as our normal payment date was yesterday, and they have credited us. So Orange can get it right sometimes. It's just a pity it is a bit late.

I still haven't received my MAC code, I've been waiting a week now. I've rung them up twice during the week and emailed them yesterday, I got a reply asking me to ring them again! I rang last night and was told the MAC would be sent to me today, but it was taking longer than usual because I'm on an LLU line. Still no sign of it today though! Should I be contacting ISPA and/or Ofcom?
