Over Enthusiastic Spam Filter

[link to this post]

We have an old Freeserve account which my wife uses for some of her email. Over the last few months we've noticed that many wanted messages from friends seem to end up being marked as spam by Orange's spam filter. This makes the spam filter virtually useless as we still have to check the spam folder manually every day to make sure that there are no wanted messages there. I've used other ISP's who have much more effective/appropriate spam filtering. Does anyone know of any way to adjust the spam filtering on Orange or should I just use another email provider?

Cheers

James.

Orange did seem to tighten up their spam filters a few months ago. In my case although it means a lot less real spam gets through to my inbox, it did catch more genuine mail than it used to. The only way I found around it was to use the webmail interface to mark genuine emails as not spam and add the senders to my allowed list. It now seems to have settled down to the point where very few spam emails get through to my Inbox and even fewer real emails get marked as spam.
