Very slow connection speed

Hi,

I used to post on here before when i was with Tiscali, but I forgot my user name and password, so I've re-registered!!

Anyway- I've just started using the Livebox and a brand new Dell PC. The connection speeds I'm getting are next to useless:

Date 14/01/07 00:31:59
Speed Down 221.77 Kbps ( 0.2 Mbps )
Speed Up 310.96 Kbps ( 0.3 Mbps )


I've called Orange loads of times and I keep getting fobbed off with " we need to check the line". The latest one was after a 40 minute wait on the phone last Sunday. i was told the line test would take a WEEK and that someone WOULD DEFINATELY call me back today. Gues what- no call. The BB deal is the free one with Orange mobile phone contract.
I'm wondering if i can get out of this contract, as it's an 18 month one that started in June 06. i can't put up with this.

Up to last wek, iwas using the Speedtouch modem. I was getting decent speeds with that, but towards November, it started to slow down.
