How long to get a mac code from Orange?

I asked for a MAC code via email on Tuesday and was told it would take upto 5 working days (so giving it till next Tuesday before contacting them again). I'm just wondering why it takes so long to generate a mac code and email it on? I've been reading online about some people getting one within 30 mins so wonder why others take so long. Getting impatient about getting mine even though it's only 2 days lol, just want to get things going with o2 but can't sign up till I get my mac code.

Cuz "up to 5 working days" is the regulations!

ask them if an exec champ can generate one straight away either through ECO if you're on IPStream or the Openreach portal if you're LLU. it CAN be done, i worked for them for over 6 years til they made us all redundant. if you keep nagging them they'll get you it, it's not worth them having an argument over, you'll have to go to the escalations dept first after the 'care' team. but like i said, be persistent and it can be done.

I rang on a Sunday, and got e-mailed the MAC on Tuesday (2 days later).

Must admit, I wasn't expecting it that early; oh, and just waiting for my 02 line to be activated (received router et al from 02)

Got my mac code last night and am now registered with o2, getting swithced on Friday, yay
