Found out about them 6 months ago, selling or where working up to in Germany. The way it works not as god as the glasses way and the price, thousands of pounds, Wait for the next improved generation in a few years and then more realistic price and al good stuff. Guess you watched the gadget show on 5, was on there breafly last night and a mention of a new Xbox.

A got a panasonic 3d tv last December at the start of the month so now just gone over the year. £1600. Can get 3d tv for £600 now, ok not THX certified 600Hz plasma with HD freeview and freesat but still a lot less, like anything new it will drop in price.

Yeah i watched the gadget show on five last night and saw what was coming, not sure if i would be a early adapter but they certainly have more appeal than a 3d set that needs 3d glasses.

I am hoping both Sony and Microsoft bring out new consoles next year because its about time and these consoles now have to many restrictions and Battlefield 3 just confirmed it.

I doubt very much that both Microsoft and Sony would leave Nintendo to release there new Wii You and have nothing on offer so i expect some announcement at E3 in 2012.

Actually I'm in the market for a new sound system for our Television as my Keff kit 100 5 years old is on the blink ...KIT 100

For some unknown reason when i try to power it on using the remote or the button on the receiver it wont work, the only way i can get it to come on is disconnecting the power lead [scart] at the back of the base station an mucking about with that.

I then get a static build up once powered on and i guess some relay is on the way out or something.

Really fancy one of These

I have one of these:

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-home-cinema-receiv...

And a set of these:

http://www.homecinemabuyer.co.uk/speakers/pioneer-s-...

Unless you are a total audiophile, I think this set up sounds great. The only desirable upgrade I can foresee is a bigger pair of front and centre speakers for playing music. The sub with built in amp is really nice and properly rattles the windows on half power. For the money I am thoroughly impressed. Bose systems are awesome, but probably overly exhuberant (and costly) for my living room.

Happy new year by the way guys. smile

Nice stuff matey and i can see you like your Sony kit,Keff system only uses 2 speakers and gives a superb sound as if using 5.

To be totally honest i can not be doing with 5 or 7 speakers all around the house with cable everywhere, its like spaghetti junction behind my tv as it is.

The Bose system only uses one but £1200 is a little on the pricey side but i guess you get what you pay for and the Bose system Iphone/ipod touch system we bought from comet for around £200 produces a fantastic sound.

Not sure on the £1200 system because im not convinced it has all the connections i need but there is another one called a lifestyle 135 which looks right up my street.

the Bose system Iphone/ipod touch system we bought from comet for around £200 produces a fantastic sound.

We bought the same system (I think) from John Lewis for Christmas. Fantastic sound and unbelievable volume and clarity for such a small unit. For some reason JL are selling the black one at £169 and the silver one at £199. not sure why but they assured me they were the same product.

As for the Sony unit, I bought it purely on the premise that it was as good as the competition for someone who wasn't a hardcore audiophile, whilst looking neat by hiding all the buttons behind a drop down fascia. I certainly don't know much about cinema sound systems, but I watched District 9 on Blu Ray on Saturday and loved every minute of it. The neighbours probably didn't! I'm not a base merchant by any means, in fact other people's blasting bass really bugs me. But for movies I love the heavy building rumbles.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Bose will sound fantastic. But I probably don't associate the specific clarity of sound with movies and gaming as I do with my music, and they are a lot of money. Have you looked at the new wireless surround set ups for that type of money? No speaker wires in sight and more than adequate for front room cinema systems. Mind you, I assume you would need power outlets for each speaker which could be just as messy.

Edit: These could do the trick maybe? Says they are compatible with the lifestyle systems.

I have a Logitech wireless surround system for my living room, it's great as you don't have the issue of the wires then and the sub woofer is out of this world so it's ideal for my bass heavy music. My sister has just bought a soundbar and that seems really good too, tempted to get one for my bedroom as don't want to really put 5 speakers around the room up there but like the idea of surround sound.

I got it before Christmas but as an early christmas present I got me one of these:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-iiyama-prolite-e27...

I actually got it from Scan for £20 cheaper than it is now which is nice to see.

Bought a few games in the Steam sale which will keep me busy:

LA Noire
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Dead Space + 2
Assassin's Creed + 2 + brotherhood.
AI War: Fleet Command (seems a little complicated but will try more this evening I guess).

P.S. Scout helicopter + laser painter + guided missles (can lock onto ground AND air targets) = me being a 1 man death machine!

Yeah i was actually thinking of a wireless sound system but im not convinced that there would be any sound problems streaming sound through wireless.

Need to go to some shops and look around and i was going to go into Best Buy in merryhill shopping complex but that plan went out the window when there new Super store opened only about 8 months ago is closing down like all the rest of the best Buy outlets.

Shame because they had a lot of technical stuff in that shop and i actually purchased my Imac from there.

Problem with both the Bose systems i mentioned is they are only sold through Bose outlets and they are far and few between and quite a few miles from where i live.

I did go to the website and clicked on the store locator for the items and there was a Bose Store some 30 miles away, suppose to sell the product but when i checked there shop details the items im interested in were not there even when i searched the site and put both the product details in.

To be honest when i see something i like then find it a complete pain trying to find a shop that actually sells it then it kind of puts me of.

Also like the idea of streaming music around the house from my Imac or some other set up so i am in the market for something that does that.............Any ideas ?

Mobile site link from iPhone:

http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/...

Mail them a question from the Bose UK site and they will tell you if you can link the iMac to it. Would have thought so.

Yeah i bought that and i have come to the conclusion that apart from a really decent platform game that normally involves shooting something i only really like FPS and driving and sports games just don't do it for me apart from the burnout crash junctions that help me pass the odd hour here and there a few years back.

Looks like Feb/March is the next time i buy a game and that looks like Max Payne at the moment, have not really looked into the release schedule to much but its about time that months like December and January were not as dull as they usually are.

The way UC3 is going at the moment, I think I'll be working through 1 and 2 next.

I'm surprised just how much I'm enjoying it, and I've never said that about a third person game before.

I did tell you mate that they were well worth a look many months ago, personally i am like you and we have similar views and thoughts about certain type of games.

Im not a great fan of third person games myself but when they are Uncharted standard its hard not to get bowled over.

Both the first 2 games are excellent and are very similar as expected with 2 having slightly better graphics just like the latest edition.

If you like Uncharted 3 mate then you will love the first 2 instalments equally.

But i understand a little where swanny is coming from as his views and opinions is exactly the way i saw it with Bioshock, the first game was a breath of fresh air exciting and new and i was totally hooked, then a year or two passed and bioshock 2 came along and i felt the same as Swanny and Uncharted 2.

I think what happens is some games dont have that initial impact when they make follow ups, nobody had really had a bioshock before and it was fresh and surprised, but when they release a follow up that surprise and shock factor has all but vanished as you know exactly what your getting .

I mean when Uncharted came out it was everything Tomb raider should had been with some fresh ideas and amazing visuals and was a great rpg, obviously tomb raider came many years before so it was never going to look as good.
Sad thing is only a handful of developers seem to have the skill to unlock the potential of the playstation 3 because many games from other developers look total garbage.
