Bread Roll wink

At least the Playstation 4 didn't pack up so I'm hoping that changing the Power/supply and HDMI leads did the trick because it ran as smooth as can be tonight apart from a error report sent to Sony meaning i had to restart a chapter in Battlefield 4 which i have to say completely blew me away how it looks and how it plays.

And I'm talking single player here which Battlefield games are not renown for,i was open mouthed at the set pieces, the destruction, explosions you name it,doesn't look like the rubbish i played on the playstation 3 and its really shocked me how much i adore this game, and thats coming from someone that has never been that bothered about Battlefield but this is really something special.

Swanny i am absolutely gob smacked that you been an avid fan of this franchise don't like it,I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say you probably don't like it because you have seen a poor looking version like me running on a very old ageing system that just can not cope.

If you played this like i have tonight on a playstation 4 you will be amazed mate wink

I'm gonna pick up BF4 this weekend. Don't know what maps I was watching the yank on, but I wanna be a chopper pilot now. grin

I was watching Timey play the campaign mode and I honestly thought for a bit it was MP, what with all the squad kill notifications etc. Twitch doesn't do it justice in full screen though. It's not streaming in 1080.

SP is very different to MP, overall the story is worse then BF3 but its nice enough and BF is all about the multipayer.

You will love no spawn protection and most guns need the attachments, also do not front knife anyone- counter knife will kill you every time.

I stopped myself buying it yesterday as I want to finish Killzone first. I nearly wobbled and bought a digital copy last night, but managed to distract myself with a little of the Blacklight Retribution Beta. (Sssh! Timey might hear me!) wink

Jaysus. It's official then. Spook knows best! Yeah. BF4 definitely looks better than KZ but as a single player KZ has gotta be better.

Check out my China Rising thread then. Come on, put your specs on properly! There's a link there with the map info in it. Gorgeous maps mate. Amazing.

But you'll have to wait till 17th Dec I think as you can only play it if you've got the Premium membership and I only recommend it if you've played online for some time to be sure you like it.

PS4 owners have to wait for EA to sort the DLC out. Not sure if it's out yet for you guys or not. Just PC and XBO I think.

Having had a look at that ESRAM/DX 11.2 article and the video jorkila posted a link to, it looks like the current consoles might be a lot lot more powerful than convention would normally allow. The XBO in particular looks like a hell of a beast if any of that weird texture stuff makes sense. Couldn't understand it myself mind.

My PC's still better though. It's my pride and joy! Wub. smile

I'm still hungover from last night on the town tongue

As for the china rising thing ,I've just looked and it's a redeem code to download it,did also see a window for the Battlefield 4 premium on the game menu.....friggin rip of or what at £39.99 greedy feekers EA.

Is it worth paying for this if I really love the multiplayer for access 2 weeks early, what else to I get for that extortionate amount of money as a add on....cancel that here is what you get..

Battlefields 4 premium

Two week early access to all five digital expansion packs
Exclusive camos,paints,emblems,dog tags,and more......whoopi [censored] do tongue
Priority position in server queues
New content every week
12 bonus Battlefield 4 battle packs.

Did you pay for it Spook or was it a freebie blush

Definitely getting it mate, probably mid week if I manage to get KZ:SF finished. That said, the KZ MP is supposed to be really good too, with no necessary unlocks and all weapons available to all right from the beginning.

That makes much more sense for people like me who have limited gaming time (but still manage to smash Magoo's back doors in on Resogun.....sssssssh!) tongue

Sorry mate, Timey is likely still hungover!

BF4 will no doubt be a much better all round multiplayer. KZ:SF is a COD killer. I don't class BF games as the same genre as COD so its irrelevant comparing KZ and BF4, it could never live up to the MP.

As for visual fidelity however, going head to head, BF4 would end up not being able to sit down for a fortnight. Killzone Shadowfall really is that good looking, even if it can't live up to BF4's brilliant tactical gameplay.

Yeah, I'd like to see Killzone for myself but I don't think I like the look of the multiplayer really. I will take a look at some proper PS4 footage of the game on YouTube. I'd like to see how it plays rather than just witness its spectacular visuals. What I'm afraid of is that it'll be a bit like playing Unreal Tournament 3 online. Nothing wrong with that game at all but it always felt a bit lonely and soulless when you stripped it back to just running around killing people to get more kills than the next man. I prefer team based stuff with a proper co-operative (shared objective) feel to it.

I was thinking BF4 would be great as a social kind of game. You and Timey could link up - I'd have loved to have joined ya both. That's pretty much the chief reason I wanted a PS4. But that's more often than not a bit of a fiction as real life playing online with mates can be a pita or certainly used to be.

Games like Battlefield do take up your time for sure. You can still drop in and out but I think you're right to question it on the basis of stickability, grinding for the best weapons and (importantly) vehicle unlocks. There's an unlock shortcut pack for weapons/vehicle stuff for BF3. It's more money but might make sense to anyone who liked the game but didn't have the time. You definitely have to level the playing field which is why I tried to get in earlier this time. There's plenty of level 100+ guys already and already too many ace pilots and helicopter guys judging from last night.

I like the training levels in the new game where you can test out all the guns and vehicles and stuff, still can not fly those dam planes and helicopters though,l manage to take of then crash into the ground 10 seconds later or the minute i try to fire the weapons or make any sort of turn blush

This is my Battlefield downfall mad

It's your life skill downfall. Come The Day After Tomorrow where would you rather be, Brumingham International Airport or fist fighting over a four year old Toyota Avensis at the Bullring taxi rank?

I wanted a hard copy of BF4 so that I could trade it if I couldn't put up with the lag. I'm so worried about you, I might pick one up tonight and you can be my chopper gunner. And none of these "going boozing in Wales" excuses soldier.

/makes mental list of excuses for inevitable tree ploughing blush

In other news, I played Resogun online co-op last night and it works really well. Nice touches are the fact that if you pause the game you are both paused automatically, which is handy because even scratching your nose means certain death in Resogun.

Also if your wingman loses all of his lives, if you reach the end of the level he is reincarnated with all of his lives again. That's quite important as 9 times out of ten I score 6-7 million. That would mean your other player waiting for 15 minutes for the next game, which to be honest I wouldn't do.

I also played it on the Vita remotely which is really nice, but hard on the eyes and the lack of triggers makes it very difficult to bomb etc. I also ended up recording 2 gig of gameplay and I still haven't worked out which button I must have pressed on the Vita that replaces the share button! confused

I got my wings. Fully insured Battlefield pilot with nearly 10 years experience from whenever BF1942 was released. Compared to the pros though, I still suck and you'll still crash a lot but I can stay airborne for a while unless there's trees. Trees are a nuisance. tongue
