Yeah, I'd like to see Killzone for myself but I don't think I like the look of the multiplayer really. I will take a look at some proper PS4 footage of the game on YouTube. I'd like to see how it plays rather than just witness its spectacular visuals. What I'm afraid of is that it'll be a bit like playing Unreal Tournament 3 online. Nothing wrong with that game at all but it always felt a bit lonely and soulless when you stripped it back to just running around killing people to get more kills than the next man. I prefer team based stuff with a proper co-operative (shared objective) feel to it.
I was thinking BF4 would be great as a social kind of game. You and Timey could link up - I'd have loved to have joined ya both. That's pretty much the chief reason I wanted a PS4. But that's more often than not a bit of a fiction as real life playing online with mates can be a pita or certainly used to be.
Games like Battlefield do take up your time for sure. You can still drop in and out but I think you're right to question it on the basis of stickability, grinding for the best weapons and (importantly) vehicle unlocks. There's an unlock shortcut pack for weapons/vehicle stuff for BF3. It's more money but might make sense to anyone who liked the game but didn't have the time. You definitely have to level the playing field which is why I tried to get in earlier this time. There's plenty of level 100+ guys already and already too many ace pilots and helicopter guys judging from last night.
