Listed for release Holiday 2017,well thats 18 months away as Holiday American style means November......They named it Project Scorpio ?
They claim it will be the most powerful console ever built........Sony your turn ?
What it says to me is that I now don't see Sony releasing a Neo this year and if the specs of the new Xbox One are to be believed then Sony has to reconfigure the Neo and release exactly the same time or just before or just after.
Since both companies seem hell bent on giving us a new console after 3 years then i say to hell with the upgrades just release a friggin new console and give us as much Grunt as possible in the first place.

I think the Scorpio will essentially be a new console even if it still keeps 'Xbox One' in the name. Supposed to be capable of 4k gaming and 60hz output  good to hear the current games will be compatible with itand I like the cross platform stuff MS are doing.

Hmmm. I dunno mate.
If the Neo rumours were true, they'd be well on their way toward production by now, maybe irreversibly so. And a console with 970 compute and all that console optimisation can achieve, I think it would still fly off the shelves like hot cakes.
Unless the Scorpio is beefed up enough to do 4k proper, it wouldn't offer that much above and beyond the Neo spec. Ultra 1080, is Ultra 1080 at the end of the day.
Did they mention 4K gaming? That would give it a very obvious advantage. It would likely still be as big as the current Xbone though. It will be interesting to see the Neo dimensions too. Mine already sounds like a Harrier jump jet when working hard on UC4. Louder than my 390x and peeps claim they are noisy! 
More importantly, have they mentioned that new controller yet? I'm hoping they've made the thumbsticks symmetrical.

Mate if you catch up on the Microsoft press conference ,search YouTube it has some amazing specifications and yes 4K gaming was the main topic in question , I can not remember the specs but they seem extremely impressive ,and your right about Sony been well into development with the Neo and it may be a little late to change.
But then again they may have to scrap it altogether given the route Microsoft are going with there new machine as there is much to like ,what's good is that they want a hell of a lot of cross play,,buy it on PC and play on your Xbox One for free and Vice versa ,but to me they are turning the Xbox one into a glorified PC in disguise with there Windows 10 Drabble ,what they did show first was there Xbox Slim which is only going to appeal to those that haven't bought a Xbox one ,given the poor sales figures of the Xbox one already they then announced Project Scorpio that literally killed of any interest in the Xbox Slim mentioned 10 minutes earlier,,what is good about the Xbox slim which may help it achieve minimal sales is the new redesigned controller and the fact it ships with a 2Terabyte hard drive which to me should be standard in this digital age we live in,and as much as I like new tech not even I would buy a slim,I have a 500 gig Xbox One now and it's getting less use than my Nintendo Wii U which Jorkila nicked earlier in the year ...

You should get PC versions of PS4 games (obviously not the exclusives) when you buy the ps4 copy. Why should you have to pay for the same content twice?

Some company's give you a free DVD version when you buy a film on BluRay. Amazon used to give you a free MP3 download when you purchase a CD.
If I buy a PS4 version at a premium, I should get the PC key for free I reckon.

You mean something like COD or the New Battlefield,don't think this is what Sony would do because this benefits only Microsoft really doesn't it with all there Windows based PC market.
If you think about it its a very good ploy from Microsoft aiming at those like myself that have both consoles to buy the Xbox One version.
Obviously i have to have a PC for this to be beneficial which i don't because I'm not of the Geeky Nature  .
But look at someone like Jorkila,that has a Xbox One ,and a Playstation 4 and a underpowered PC.............Now he is going to be tempted and switch from his playstation 4 purchase based on the the fact he can play it for free on his PC..
If Sony owned Windows then i can see your point but they don't ,its a fantastic ploy by Microsoft to sell more Xbox Ones and PCs.
If i had a Gaming Rig i would then switch my alliance from Sony Platform to Xbox One,i have both but 99% of the time i buy all my games for the Playstation 4 based on a better resolution ,but if the new Xbox Scorpio blows away the Neo i may have to change my perception and buy on Xbox One,even may have to buy a Gaming Rig.

You're right, but MS are simply subsidising those developers. There's no reason why Sony couldn't if they wanted to. It's not unthinkable.
Now if they straightened up that controller, I'd be tempted too, but I'm still reserving judgement on how many games will crossover between PC and Scorpio. It can't be all. That could be as much as halving the turnover.

Scorpio Video and Specs
Microsoft went first with there press release and you can bet Sony watched this in every single detail,now we have seen Sony Press conference ,notice there was not a single word or reference to the Sony Playstation Neo.
Personally i think they have to change the specification of that model based on what Microsoft bought to the table,it would be foolish not to ?
And there saving grace is the Scorpio is not set for release until November 2017,if this had shipped in the next 6 months i think they would have really stole a march on Sony domination,something the 360 had before Microsoft completely [censored] it up with there Xbox One reveal and alienated gamers who abandoned there gaming platform in favour of Sonys.
But Nelly i do believe what you say about its to late for Sony to Alter the spec of the Neo,but i also feel Microsoft have forced there hand and i bet its a pain in the backside for Sony Backroom developers and heads of departments in design and future upgrades.
I wasn't blown away by Neo specs to be honest,yes its a decent upgrade but it should have been better,and if Sony thought Microsoft wasn't going to come up with something even better then they live in dream world.
Sonys presentation was way better than anything Microsoft had to offer,especially in the games department,but The reveal of the Scorpio has certainly got or must have Sony worried.

So Sony VR will be out in the autumn, I thought the reason the Neo was needed was because the standard PS4 is not powerful enough...so does that mean it could be releasing at the same time but not yet announced ? If the Scorpio is considerably more powerful I think Sony could be in trouble.

Its a lot more powerful matey by a very large margin,yes VR is out this year,mentioned USA release but not Europe to my knowledge,and your right about the Neo created especially for the VR apparently,so how come no mention of the Neo system,like i said i think they were going to until Microsoft announced the Scorpio .
Now watching the Nintendo press conference which isn't actually on centre stage at E3,focussing totally on the new Zelda game on the Wii U [dont own one anymore] and the NX System.
Zelda is my most favourite game of all time and i grew up with Nintendo products who were once before Sony and Microsoft the game leaders by a large margin.
They lost complete touch and have alienated many gamers with there constant kiddie oriented games with no third party support and hardly any first party titles.
Looking at the new Zelda it looks brilliant,graphically nothing special and it looks very much similar to the cel shaded wind waker from the past,but Nintendo make superb Zelda and first party games and i know its going to be exceptional when it ships next year when they release the Nintendo Nx,a console i will buy for this game alone.
But i am not really hopeful of what Nintendo will bring to the table with the NX,I'm now convinced it won't be on par with a Neo and leagues away from the Scorpio from Microsoft .

Yeah I think you could well be right about Sony cancelling their plans because of Scorpio.
Haha I completely forgot about Nintendo, I hope they do bring out a serious console that is comparable to the next PS/Xbox. Still got my NES and hooked it up not so long ago and it's still working

"world of final fantasy" game sort of sneaked under the radar, looks really interesting out this oct 2016, and its turn based combat O_o
Currently it says ps4/xbox1 so console exclusive but SE's past behaviour means it probably is coming for pc after but they just dont want to announce it so people double dip.

It's also unfeasible for Sony to produce a radically revised Neo - the silicon has been designed, developer kits have gone out. Matching Scorpio would require scrapping Neo's existing processor completely. What the Scorpio rumours will most likely achieve, is to push Sony into the earliest Neo release date possible. They'll be wanting to sell as many as they can, as quickly as they can.

Game looks brilliant mate. Dead Rising for grown ups. Looks a bit choppy framerate wise, so I suspect it's actually running on a PS4 and not a high end PC. It's games like this that, if they step up to GTX 970 type performance levels as promised, would make a Neo a definite for me mate.
A 4K TV is at least a couple of years away for me, and I don't believe 4K gaming is truly here yet. My latest plan is to stick my R9 380 Nitro back in my rig and give it to my eldest girl, give my ps4 to my next eldest girl, then buy a Neo and build a new rig for my 390x. Something to accommodate proper 4K GPU's when they start to arrive.
The worry for me about the Scorpio is the games. I can't imagine MS locking down all the multiplats so as to provide real worth to the free crossover play. So I'd need to be certain there would be decent exclusives if I were to flip sides. Otherwise I just play them on my gaming rig.
I think it will soon become apparent with this new refresh idea, that more than ever, exclusives will be really important as to which side to choose. My PC decimates my ps4 visuals on multiplats, but I'll never get the chance to experience TLOU or Uncharted on it. That's why I think a Neo is the way for me to go.
That's my current thinking anyway. I need to see the Neo in action before I make my mind up properly.

PC looks good though.
EDIT : Looking further at the site I would question the benefit of an i7 for gaming over an i5 - I would potentially consider getting an i5 and upping the graphics card spec.

There are a mass of gaming PC on this site and to me its a bit like a jigsaw puzzle and quite confusing,i generally just look for high end graphic cards ,a lot of ram and the latest processor.

That's fair enough - i7 though is generally an advantage when doing high intensity stuff like video editing - the graphics cards are far more significant for games as that is where almost all the power goes.
To be honest if you can afford it then that PC is fine. There are things that could be upgraded or downgraded but nothing there that I would say is particularly "wrong". In the end I would be inclined to set a budget and get the best you can for it. You also have a reasonable sized SSD in there - you could shrink that but it depends on how good you are at managing installs between separate disks - most people find it easier to just use a single drive for nearly everything.

Nice rig.
I wouldn't add another GPU mate. Too many niggles in getting games to run in SLI for your patience threshold (and mine!).
Just get the very best card you can afford and you won't be disappointed.
1080 perhaps?

Was running 2 graphic cards side by side 12 years ago.and to be honest the Scan PC became as slow as a tortoise within months of me owning it,and that was 3DX system.
Do they still use Team Speak for chat or do they have other programs?

Nope even the top end 1080s are a bit on the cheap side and i was wandering if i could put 4 in the PC .................Wrong Swanny,just if and when i do go down the PC route i don't want to be upgrading it 6 weeks later and thats why i want a decent rig in the first place.
besides I'm lazy and adding new and improved upgraded ram literally bores me,the thought of unscrewing a Graphic card and then downloading Drivers and all that stuff makes me lose sleep.
Another reason why i stuck with console gaming....

I would keep the 1070 that comes with it, and if you really want to upgrade the gpu then wait for the 1080ti before replacing it.
But if you do replace the 1070 when you purchase it and will consider selling the 1070, pm me

The thing is if I was buying a new rig I would 100% build it myself, but I know that's not your cup of tea so pre-built is your only option unless you had a buddy that lived reasonably local that could put it together for you!!
I'm actually waiting for my new case to arrive from Amazon as I type this and I'll be rebuilding my rig sometime today hopefully!

Explain ........It looks like any other PC box to me so enlighten me as to why the PC gamer in you bought this opposed to 1,000s of others.
Looks nice matey but information regarding your choice may help people like me who know very little about PC gaming in this day and age having given up in 2002 which is 14 years ago since i played PC games online...

Took me a few days to decide on this one matey, it has no drive bays inside the are that the motherboard/gpu are so it has optimum airflow with lots of room for fans/radiators depending on which route I take further down the line (my cpu is already water cooled).
No optical drives which makes no odds to me and I also like the fact that my ssd/hdd go behind the backplate out of the way with the majority of the cables!!

I am assuming the drive bays are in a sectioned off part of the case - so the airflow around CPU/GPU is unhindered by the drives. Looking at one earlier the PSU and drives were in the bottom of the case with a divider between that and the motherboard.
EDIT : Actually looking at the video it isn't sectioned off but it is at the bottom and therefore the airflow from front to back of the case flows over motherboard/GPU but not the drives.

fractal design are the new kings of PC cases, much cheaper than antec but the same level of quality.
The reason a good choice of case is important is the following.
Cable management capability, so keeping things tidy and optimising airflow.
Drive bay system, all the best cases will have bays allowing you to slide drives in and out with ease as well as easy access to the cables.
Noise management, the best cases will make system quieter due to the material used on the panels.
Cooling design, the best cases have a design that allows fans in the best places as well as radiator installation.
Visuals, some people value how nice a case looks.
Build quality, no sharp edges, worn away colours, cheap flimsy metal etc.
Dust filters, keep the inside dust free, or more realistically buy some time before it gets choked with dust.
Modular design, so e.g. allowing drive bays to be removed or put in a new position.
Also everyone has different priorities on what they want so what is a good case for one person may not be for another.
My old antec p180, I had to put much effort into making sure the drive configuration was good for a long time because once they were in the case, accessing the cable's and the drives themselves was a pain, a poor design in the long run even tho the p180 was once king several years back. Now I have a fractal define R4, the drive bay's are way better, drives can slide in and out easily, and I have very easy access to the cables for them so can disconnect any drive at will with ease without taking out the entire drive bay like I had to in the p180.
Also what I forgot to mention is external ports.
Usually all ports are on the back of the motherboard which can be inconvenient. Cases can supply ports on their front panel or side panel to make it more convenient to plugin things like phones to the usb ports. My old p180 had 2 usb2 ports, my fractal has 2 usb2 "and" 2 usb3 ports.

The only game to get this sort of response
Can not wait to play this sometime next year on the new NX,probably my most favourite game franchise of all time and i know this game will be really special,its got the typical Nintendo look and feel for a Zelda game,looks kind of cell shaded and isn't going to win any awards or have Naughty Dog slightly worried.
But this is pure Nintendo magic,a thing that is very very rare these days,the NX must have tremendous 3rd party support and Nintendo developers need to output games at a quicker rate,and the NX needs to be a fully fledged proper console without the Nintendo Gimmicks of the past with stupid massive tablet sized controller.

I think what Nelly says is also truth and think that its to little to late to change the specifications of the Neo,but i also think that Microsoft have forced Sony Hand into another console war in 2017.
There is no way on earth Sony are going to let Microsoft release a console 40% more powerful than there Neo that is rumoured to release later this year,a date I'm still sceptical about as for me at least this would have surfaced at E3.
Personally i think Sony Was somewhat surprised at Microsofts reveal of 2 new consoles in the space of 15 months,the Slim in August and the apparent release of the Scorpio November 2017.
So with the Nintendo Nx releasing next March,the Xbox Slim this August,Possibly the Neo sometime after and then a massive upgrade in the Scorpio at the end of 2017 i think Sony may now have to counteract and release another more powerful playstation sometime around when Scorpio releases.
If it has to be delayed and is later than the Scorpio you can bet your bottom dollar Sony will promote whats coming to affect Scorpio sales
Imagine when the Scorpio comes out and then Sony says it has something twice as powerful on the market shortly after,imagine the damage that is going to do to the Microsoft platform after trying desperately to claw back what they had with the 360.
So i think in the next 15 months or so we could have around 4 console releases if Sony don't want Microsoft stealing sales from them.

The president and global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House, said he was �surprised' by the announcement of Scorpio in an interview with the Financial Times. Instead he insisted more details on the recently confirmed Neo will only be revealed once there are enough compelling features to make the console appealing.
That definitely suggests the specs are not final so maybe they are scrapping current plans and doing a redesign.

Problem is Trance these units have to be designed and created and then go into production months in advance of a general release so in some respects I'm with Nelly on this one and think its to little to late for Sony to do much with the Neo other than cancel it altogether and go back and compete with the upcoming Scorpio and give something even more powerful than that unit.
They may be able to up the Ram possibly but i think to compete with a Scorpio it needs a complete revamp.
Lets just say they release it as it is sometime this year which Sony Have virtually said its going to happen,12 months down the line the Scorpio comes out,what do Sony do then ,because i just can not see them letting Microsoft claw gamers to there platform from Sony,and if Sony don't act then Microsoft will have the powerful hardware and people will drift away from Sony and want the better spec,just like they abandoned the Xbox One in favour of the more powerful playstation 4 that has better quality games at higher resolutions ,so its obvious gamers care about specifications and which has the better games.

Unless its a essential piece of kit to go along side there Virtual Reality releasing October,something they said wasn't actually required and it would all work just as well on the playstation 4.

That's what I thought from what Andrew House said and it makes sense if the scorpio is much more powerful.
I still think these new consoles are a mistake and I would rather they left it say another 2 years and release the next generation. They should concentrate of bringing loads of great games and give developers a chance to really optimise them and get the most out of the current gen.
I can understand needing more power for VR but it would be better if they could have made some sort of external box for extra power that goes along with the headsets (if that's possible)

external upgrades is the way to go but for whatever reason the console makers wont go this route. I assume because it is less profitable for them, even tho its more consumer friendly.
They just need some kind of port that is akin to a pci-e slot on a pc, where a device can be plugged in should future games need extra power.
What is looking likely at this time is that sony and microsoft will be juggling the lead in terms of horsepower every other year with frequent hardware releases. If the consumer is clever, they will reject this and the market will fail, but I am not convinced that would happen as even on here people have said they will lap it up and open their wallets for every console.
Your point regarding games i agree completely. First party games for both console vendors have been significantly reduced, especially with microsoft closing down game studios at an alarming rate. Whilst third party vendors seem to now be over concentrating on known good IP's such as COD and sports franchises at the expense of other games. It seems to now be considered acceptable for just a few games to be released every year by these studios.
Studios with lesser budgets seem to be concentrating more now on mobile platforms and PC. I assume because those markets are larger and cheaper to release on, especially with the fact they are both dominated by digital sales. Consoles are sort of stuck in the past with physical media, but microsoft tried to move them forward and were struck down hard.

Well your not missing much,even Uncharted 4 this year for me was literally quite boring the first 4 hours,game of the year for me so far is Doom,but i don't think at present 2016 has been very good for gamers,we would have been playing No Mans Sky by now but we have to wait until August for that.
As usual as soon as winter months arrive we will be greeted with a Avalanche of games and possibly some updated consoles in the form of the Xbox One Slim and Playstation Neo which i still think won't ship as they should have at least shared some information,promoted the product at E3 and showed us the console.
And least we forget playstation VR......I forget about that 10 seconds after they revealed it

Battle zone looks impressive and fun but i just can not warrant or want to warrant something I'm going to spend 10 minutes on every couple of months,the girlfriend thinks it looks exciting and has asked me if I'm going to get it,but like me she is slightly fickle and within a few days she will quickly forget about it and show very little interest after the initial wow factor.
I am tempted just because its new tech and i don't want to be left behind,i think what concerns me is how does this unit work for people that on most occasions choose to wear glasses when gaming,do i need to wear glasses with a VR strapped to my head or what.

Depends how long sighted you are I suspect. That said, it's supposed to be easy to wear with glasses on, at least I think I read that somewhere.
Many commentators already believe the cinema mode will be a very big draw to PSVR. The availability of 360° video content is going to expand rapidly over the next year or so.

6600k vs 6700k so lose hyperthreading, to add the 6700k back another £90
850 pro sata3 ssd vs the m.2 ssd, on spec is slower for gaming wont tell the difference.
3tb hdd vs 2tb hdd, is 50% more hdd.
980ti vs 1070, they both very close but due to whacky pricing 980ti is currently cheaper, 1070 is more power and heat efficient tho.
my build has a better motherboard and case + higher quality cooling.
