First attempt...
So many flipping mouse buttons, but the first thing to master is my vertical "awareness"' if that makes sense? You can see on a couple of melee kills that I'm not exactly looking them in the eye!
The non inverted y axis will take a while to feel natural too.

On the PS4?
You'll be deadly on the battlefield once you've mastered it

It certainly feels a lot faster, but the mouse buttons take some getting used to. Three months someone said to me, before you start to really see the benefits.

Yeah you will definitely have an advantage when you master it.. how to you set up mouse and keyboard on PS4 anyway?
I'm just getting used to using mouse and keyboard on PC again, been a long time but getting back into it very quickly

Seem to do okay!

Thanks. It's only when it gets hectic and I end up stuck in the corner that it all goes pear shaped. The best handling game so far (by a mile) is Killing Floor 2. Managed to sort the boss first time out.
But when I tried online, it was really choppy, though that could have been because I was stuck in a party of 100ms pingers, whilst on 28ms myself.
BF1 isn't the greatest. The problem is that you cant exceed the maximum turn speed of a controller set up. So you can't do instant 180s as you can on pc. Will keep experimenting with the perfect set up.
Haven't tried it on PC just yet.

It won't change any lag issues, but in a fair fight yeah, quicker is going to be better.
You need an adaptor to play on console. I got the XIM4 because the others are aimed more at the script kiddies and their cheats. It's nearly as expensive as your GPU though, (£133) so probably not worth it for you mate.
I picked up the XIM4, a Corsair K30 gaming keyboard, Logitech G502, a Sony navigator and a decent gaming mat, for £160, all boxed. I bought it for pc basically, as the XIM4 changes the setting profiles automatically from game to game. I'm only practising on PS4 before going and getting my [censored] handed to me on a plate on pc...

Yeah not much chance on me spending that haha
I also picked up a cheap gaming keyboard and mouse but I'm surprised how good they are... first ones I have had with LED back lights, put a smile on my face when first plugged in simple things...

Is it cabled or Wifi/Bluetooth ?
|
|
|
|
Both are cabled, which is what I wanted.

|
|
Ah good - much better response than wireless
|
|
|

And you don't have to mess about with batteries or recharging

Which mouse did you go for? I'm not using a keyboard, so I want a fair few buttons!
I've got the G502 which is meant to be the bees knees. It has slots for four or five weights that I can put in the bottom, which is cool. But I really hate the button placements. I've got quite big hands, so long fingers, yet I still feel that I'm stretching to reach over the rear of the body to get to the buttons.
I didn't choose it, it came with the package, and it is a superb mouse. If I were using a keyboard, I probably wouldn't need more than 3 extra mouse buttons.

Yeah that was the main reason I went for wired.

Nice mouse.
This is the one I got. Obviously won't be the same quality but it does feel solid and comfortable to use. Only has 7 buttons but plenty for how I use it.
This may be a stupid question by why aren't you using a keyboard ?
|
|
|
|
Certainly don't!
|
|
|
|
I have the Logitech G5 mouse
Saitek Eclipse keyboard
Old stuff now but still good

This may be a stupid question by why aren't you using a keyboard ? Ive never used one for gaming before, still breaking myself in gently - mouse first, then keyboard.
Also I'm not at a desk, so need to have a serious think about where and how I'm going to set everything up in the long term!
Mouse

Ahh. So you mean you are using a controller for movement ? sounds awkward. Probably best to just use both mouse and keyboard at the same time, especially as you got a nice bit of kit, shouldn't take too long to get used to. Just stick to single player games as first

You're half right!

The analogue stick is better than a keyboard, no question. But you need to plan your mapping carefully. I can still set my keyboard up adjacently, to cover any awkward key assignments I might want. I just need to figure out the right "desk / no desk" setup in my lounge. Hmmmmm...
I bought the XIM4 because the suggested software variant with Better DS3 tool etc, was too much faffing about.

Interesting... I can see how that could work really well but would take some getting used to.I am happy with controllers and happy with mouse & keyboard but a mixture might be strange.

That sounds mental but it looks like it might be good

I used it in the video I posted earlier.
