Always the way mate. If the story doesn't evolve in the way everybody individually expects it too, or the game play doesn't produce some innovative new feature, then it can be berated for not really doing too much wrong. Like Portal 2.

We have had only 2 MW titles, but in many peoples minds the Treyarch versions get included in the thinking as all that is talked about is "COD".

Battlefield and COD are both great games out of the box. The longevity and clientele of the online play is something different though.

Personally I can't wait for both of them. A great autumn I hope.

Yea I agree with Falcon, I say it's for kids because most people playing it are kids and it appeals to them because it is so quick, arcadey, lots of perks (gimmicks) and its a very simple game. You just run around and kill, even when you play tactical games they aren't that tactical. With BF you have to think a bit more, take your time a bit more, etc. I do really like the COD games and MW1 and MW2 were great games but I don't know if I can continue to buy them when year on year I go more and more off them.

The only reason I will buy it is if suddenly lots of friends start playing it, but most of my friends have gone off COD too now so its very doubtful.

Like it or not the kids have taken over the COD games, and the developers know this and intentionally cater for them.
I have no intention of buying another cod game as the BF series has almost everything I look for in a FPS.
Small cod like maps suit players that don't mind dying and respawning 100+ times a game. No skill required just plenty of luck.
I remember the days when you tried your hardest to stay alive.
When I'm playing BFBC2 my aim is to keep my K/D ratio as high as possible.
Currently at 1.04 after 154 hours of play. Not as high as I would like but I'm working on it

My GF's son cheats because he has no interest in playing the game properly, combine him with a games developer that couldn't give a monkeys about the game once they've sold it and you have a recipe for disaster.

The whole cod experience is designed around a quick fix, one that doesn't require skill.
