This thing is harder to setup than a pc, zelda has to be downloaded but the console has to be updated first, compared to sony/microsoft the system update is snail pace.

The gamepad has its own ac adaptor as well O_o.

I hope the annoying music can be turned of in the dash.

also when its updated I will be unplugging again to rerarrange cables etc.I noticed it has to be long ways and not enough room on my table so need to move the tv (yes this is in my tv not monitor)

The console can be layed horizontal or vertical, originally I had it standing tall with the 2 attachment plastic brackets, I then preferred it lying flat to be honest.

The update takes its time yes and I was surprised that there was no Ethernet port on the back so of to eBay and I am awaiting a LAN adapter for it so I can use this as a wired and not wireless connection.

The game pad has a cradle for charging and you will be using this a extreme amount of time as the battery life is no more than 5 hours max and that's pushing it,I generally put it back on charge every couple of hours of gaming because I don't want to have to wait 2 hours for a maximum charge and it running out while I'm playing.

As for setting it up I found that a piece of cake apart from the update and registration procedure ,quite surprised how they manage to get so many components in one box,put it this way it wouldn't be returned the same neat and tidy way..

So you had the Zelda bundle did you, have you played previous Zelda games as this is the sort of game you tend to like isn't it ?

well now the eshop is lagging like crazy, spinning circles galore and downloading zelda just fails with Error Code 111-9001

a ethernet cable would be handy yes.

zelda link to the past was a great game (2d on snes) ironically a direct sequal to that was released for the 3ds, it does seem the portables are getting all the good games except I dont like playing on small screens, whether or not I will like a 3d version of zelda remains to be seen.

fixed the wireless issue now.

Watched a bit of netflix as its first time I used netflix on a hdtv.

browsed the eshop and wow compared to xbox360 and ps3 is bare bones barely anything on there, and the wii virtual console has a massive 14 snes games at £5 each as well tongue

zelda is pretty good tho at least.

I think nintendo need to sort the battery issue on the gamepad and also make it chargeable from one of the usb ports on the console.
add tons more virtual console content at 1/5 the price.
the touchscreen is pretty bad on my gamepad, eg. typing in my netflix login info was a chore, having to press below the letter and press hard.
add way more content to the estore, I know the wii-u hasnt a huge game library but its like browsing a shop after zombies have emptied the town.

I can see why the media has slammed the device.

not tried any of the wii games yet like the last story.

I guess I need to get a wii controller.

Currently, only titles from the Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo Entertainment System libraries are available for purchase on the eShop. Most of the Virtual Console library available on the original Wii is also available on Wii U, but only through the implementation of the console's "Wii Mode" and Wii Shop Channel, to access and purchase Virtual Console titles. Wii Virtual Console games cannot be controlled using the Wii U GamePad, albeit the current versions of the system software support displaying Wii Virtual Console games on the GamePad screen, as if playing any other Wii game.

Planned future releases will include purchasing software from the Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube[citation needed] and Game Boy Advance libraries

also I think amazon deliver sundays permament now, wii remote scheduled for sunday also.
